Nmorgan,
My ability to post was completely locked out for a week and so was on IT support!! But it seems like it’s been fixed now and can post. I still can’t direct message yet but will try to connect separately.

How has husband’s week on treatment and recovering from cycles? I hope he’s been able to tolerate symptoms and side effects. I know you were still waiting for your genetic testing results as well.

My husband has just switched back to an old line of treatment last thur. We are trying to persue lonsurf/avastin treatment/clinical trial right now. But his symptoms are pretty severe with diarrhea so trying to get that under somewhat control.

Hi Suelee,

I’m glad you were able to get your account restored. I know it took me posting a few times before I was given full privileges.

My husband has been suffering from exhaustion. That has really been his main side effects so far. The past week he has had a bad attitude and is driving me crazy, but I doubt that is a side effects from the treatment lol.

I’m sorry to hear about the diarrhea. Have you tried adding more fiber? I know that can help sometimes. I’m glad your husband is looking at treatment. I hope you find a treatment that works well for your husband. I’m sending you good thoughts.

Thank you Jacques for the bump, I wasn't aware of this thread.
Just a few words for the other spouses here, especially new ones, based on my personal experience. It is an amazing resource, and a place where others do understand what you're going through (unlike friends or relatives who, although meaning well, have no idea what it's like to care for someone fighting this awful, relentless disease). One thing I found though - it's easy for cancer to take over your life, and spending time on a forum immerses you even deeper; so I find myself taking long breaks during which I do not post on, or even read, the forum.
But I know it's always there, in case I need a boost, or as an added research place (always good to read personal testimonies in addition to impersonal scientific articles!).
Wishing you all strength for another year of combat!

OMG!!!! i have been lurking as the wife of pete305 since 2015 and did not know this thread exists. Gosh i needed all of you caregivers and significant others throughout these years. the helplessness and almost desperation i have felt during the low times is likely paralleled by each of you but i didn't know you were there. there are so many times i needed to talk or subjects i wanted to talk about - i hope there is still a following to this thread.
BTW - do i start my own profile or use DH's like i am using right now?

Welcome to the caregivers thread !

I think it's best to use DH's profile, but update the signature so that it reads something like this.

Wife of: DH male, initial dx T3 N1c M0 - Stage IIIb in 2015 sigmoid colon resection 2015 folfox 2015-2016, 8 treatmts then allergic reaction to oxaliplatin folfiri 2017 due to liver mets, RFA folfiri 2018 new liver mets,5FU and Avastin 2023 abdominal wall mets, lung mets from prostate cancer 2023 - zytiga and lupron, RFA

The link for updating your signature is here:

Note: The size limit for signatures is 512 characters (including spaces), so when you add things to your signature be sure to stay within the limit.
