Kathleen, my friend. All the best vibes and thoughts headed yours and Dick's way. Try to distract yourself as best you can and visualize everything turning out okay. Of course, you could just sit there and worry too.
I would always tell myself that no amount of worrying (or not) would change things, because it is what it is and whatever it is, you will adjust what you need to and proceed to the next day. Wasting those days up to the scan and afterwards waiting for results are, well...days wasted. However...believe me...I absolutely know this is easier said than done.
