I had a mass taken out of my lung in 2002 which tested positive for TB, no cancer.
Oct 2005 dx w/ stage IIIc rectal cancer. I am making another trip to Mayo for a PET scan to determine if a newly discovered mass on my lung is or is not cancer. Seems my options are cancer or TB and not sure which to hope for. It seems if one doesn't get me the other is determined to. Apparently I may have to do some TB meds for a year which I believe means no chemo during that time.
Something I just learned this weeked is that if you've ever had TB, chemo can reactivate it. Oh joys! Hopefully I'll be full of some good news on Friday, somehow.
