clinical trials??

Postby Calif.Optimist » Wed Jan 11, 2006 2:30 am

Clinical trials??
The doctor just informed us that the chemo will be stopped. We have been told that there are no more options for her. We tried to get her into Dana Farber Cancer Institute but once the doctor in Boston conferred with our doctor, we were told they could not offer anything different. Possibly, we can post her records on the Dana Farber Patient website and get a second opinion? Has anyone tried that? We refuse to give up~ but where do we go from here. Our daughter is only 29 years old. She is not ready to resign to this illness.
Suggestions?

Hello,

I know there's a clinical trial going on at Moore Cancer Center at UCSD. You should check it out. The new drug is Panitumumab. The doctor in charge of the study is Dr Tony Reid.

Actually, Mina has an appointment with Dr. Reid in a few weeks. We didn't know he was involved with a clinical trial.
Thanks for the information!
