Immune System

To those of you that asked why it is important to learn what your blood work means and how to help yourself. When I got my first blood
work results, I put them into a spread sheet. I singled out the test
that were out of range, looked each one up or asked my doctor, what
can I do to improve each one. The single most important thing we all
have in common is a weakened Immune System. Read everything
and do everything to build up your own IS with proper diet. The
Internet has so much on this subject and always discuss it with
your Oncologist. Betty Crocker's cook book, "Living With Cancer"
tells you what to eat for every side effect, nausea, tiredness, etc.
I check this site everyday and will be forever grateful to Molly for
giving us this place to meet, learn and share.

i'm a stage IV colon cancer patient, who's always had low white blood cell counts. on the normal scale of 3.0-10.00 is was always between a 2 and 4. i started taking shark liver oil twice a day. my last blood work showed a white blood cell count of 6.1, my highest ever. i was skeptical, but it appears as though it really works.

Jenny,

Sounds tasty, ugh. Seriously, thank you for the advise and I am happy that your white blood count has increased. Keep fighting...this disease is treatable, preventable and beatable! You will be in my continued prayers!
