Keeping emotionally balanced through illness

Postby Rochelle » Mon Sep 12, 2005 9:58 pm

There are so many things I have learned to do during this illness of colon cancer
1. check my emotions before expressing them

2. letting myself know that negative emotions will pass

3. people who arent going through the illness will never realize
the emotional trials you are experiencing, so don't feel "let down"
by their reactions

I have also learned to slowly accept, that at this time in the course of my treatment, I need to develop self discipline in taking part in a world of people who aren't aware of the daily struggles of people with this illness; in addition to accepting the side affects of cancer treatment in order to meet the objective of beating the disease.

Emotional Rollercoaster

Rochelle,
I understand. :D :D It is so nice to be able to talk to other people who can relate. I have been walking around with this hideous sore under my nose from the constant runny nose (chemo related). I have hair on my head so nobody would ever guess I am going through chemo.
