DPD Enzyme Deficiency & CC

Postby Colon2007 » Mon Jun 11, 2007 12:34 pm

Dear Everybody,

have any of you heard about what protocols are needed to take this bloood test? I know that if you have the defeiciency of the enzyme then 5FU can be toxic and if you have the mutation of the gene it can be toxic too DPD-exon-14-skipping mutation thats what its called. Excellent german website about it :

God Bless You all to heal quickly and be back to full and excellent health,

Thank you all for everything that you do,

The DPD-deficient enzyme test usually isn't given unless someone has a severe reaction. If anyone does have a reaction to treatment, it would be pretty standard to give this test. Off the top of my head, I am pretty sure about 1% of patients have this deficiency, and it can be extremely serious.

Thanks for this website!
