Guess I gave a lot of people something to discuss other than their cancer stories.PS 12 sponsers @ $5000. X12 months=$72000. Do the math.

Hey Einstein...do the math. 12 sponsors x $5000 = $60,000 and ps...we've never had 12 full sponsors. Check the books.

hahahahah! as if all we had to talk about previously was our cancer stories.

don't pat yourself on the back too much friend, seeing as the word cancer was mentioned several time in every post since, and it is directly involving cancer.

it's awesome when people try to give themselves so much credit for doing something as huge and groundbreaking as typing on a forum. as if anyone who responded to your comments spent anymore than the time it took to type the response to have it affect their lives.
as I said earlier in a few ways, actions speak louder than words, if you really want to be able to take credit for creating drama and/or doing a better job at what these fine folk here at colon club do...than maybe go actually DO something.
But if all you can do is type trivial things on a message board, well, it proves you're not really someone to be taken seriously anyway. Save for doing what you are doing for me right now, which is passing the time at my day job while there is nothing to work on....
so i guess in that case, thanks!

Oh my god. Some people are really losing sight of what all this is about. It is about saying FU to cancer and celebrating "beating" it. It is about shedding our fears of never looking normal again. It is about feeling good about yourself again. It is about putting a face on colon cancer in order to have people stop and think about getting checked.

I see the Colondar and it gives me hope that I will feel good about my body again ( and put my bikini back on). I see the Colondar and read everyone's stories and it gives me strength. I would love to someday be a Colondar model and look and feel as strong as those models!

Not everything is about the money. This site, the Colossal Colon, the Colondar.....they are there to help educate. Thank you for everything you guys do!

You are DEAD wrong about The Colondar

Postby grfxrme » Wed Jun 13, 2007 9:06 am

Four years ago, my father died of this horrific disease... at that time in my life, I started to think about ways I might be able to make a difference. Watching my athletic, hard working father (missed 1 day of work in 38 years of service) be slowly turned into a shell of his former self, convinced me that I had to do something.

I met Molly and Hannah of The Colon Club through an acquaintance and immediately became one of the family:)

I have designed this calendar every single year PRO-BONO as a tribute to my father and to the terrific things my Colon Club family is doing to make a difference everyday. To go to this retreat and meet all of these wonderful people who have to deal with this disease every single day of their lives, what I do for them is NOTHING by comparison.

To associate this calendar with pornography is really a disservice to all the models and people who work tirelessly to put it all together for the cause. It's a celebration of life and triumph.

Please don't lump our calendar in with the sickos and wackos who can twist anything into a perverted fantasy. It couldn't be further from the truth.

Sincerely,

T-

hi,
i agree with you. why would anyone even post the porno garbage crap to start with? guess people have nothing better to do. i think the colonder is great and to see pictures and read peoples stories is a great help to me knowing there are others out there the same age and younger battling this disease. i guess all message boards will have their share of trolls.

umm... 12 months x $5,000 a month = $60,000 (not $72,000)

...and if we ever got that many sponsors, we'd be so excited Molly and I literally wouldn't know what to do! We have never had anywhere close to 12 sponsors - last year we only had 5 paying sponsors, and not all of those paid the full $5,000 - the others were in-kind or ones that we put in for free because we think their organizations are helpful.

Again, we truly have no secrets - if anyone is genuinely interested in our finances, or anything else that we do, I would definitely recommend asking before posting. We are always happy to answer.

:)Hannah

p.s. Okay, I lied because we do have one big secret - we're not showing anyone the Colondar before it gets printed!!

I am the 37 year old firefighter from Mount Prospect. I am Mr.May 2006 and proud of it. I had no idea I was so famous. Who ever thought that I would be linked to a porn site! WOW! Boy are people at my church going to be impressed with that! I'm so glad that my mom has e-mail and the internet. She'll be so proud of her little boy.
The colondar is one of the best things I have ever done and I am so proud of it and the people I met through it. I am a better person because of them. This is one of the best organizations around.
Who knew that when I woke up this morning I was going to find out that I was linked to a porn site. What a day! I am so glad that some people have that kind of free time. I wish I did. My days seem to be filled with more productive things, like staying alive, enjoying the weather, going running, being with my family. I can write more but I'm sure you get the idea. But I guess we all can't have the luxury of surfing strange porn all day, you freak.

By the way, I just celebrated my 5 year cancer free mark from stage 3 colon cancer!
