Minnesota-Wisconsin and anywhere else get together

Postby edinaman » Fri Aug 06, 2010 11:25 am

It's official-we will be doing a picnic, barbecue, whatever on September 26, 2010 at my house. This is an invitation for anyone and everyone who wants to come. I know there are a number of people in the area, and I'm hoping many can come and we can meet each other. There are also many of you who have family or friends in the Midwest. This would be a good excuse to visit them and come to the barbecue. More details will follow, once we get an idea of how many are coming. I hope we have a big turn out. If you are interested, let me know.
Jeff
Went in for surgery for a cyst on my bladder, and they found colon cancer growing on the outside of the colon. Got to have two surgeries at the same time! Stage 3, one node involved.

Wow, I am going to miss BBQ by only a couple of weeks, I have decided to go back to Minnesota (home state) for Oktober Fest in New Ulm. I decided while I am NED I would go "home" for a visit.

Hey Jeff that is a neat idea, well done. I will be there in spirit, but road trips out of the country aren't part of my "journey" yet. Get some pix and vids to post here..would be a hoot !

Cheers to all the party animals !

Hey Jeff,

I might come....let's see about Terry. I still don't know though if I am going to be going to NM on the 30th for the balloon fiesta. If I am, it would be hard to do the 26th then fly to ABQ but we'll see.

Well, I'm down for it. Kinda hard to say for certain since that'll be around the time I'll be finishing chemo and I have no idea how I'll be feeling. But if all goes well I'm totally there. I'd love to meet some of you guys (well, ALL of you guys, but I suspect the entire forum won't be able to make an appearance :) ). Where, exactly, in WI/MN are we having this shin-dig? Oh, and if you need me to stand guard w/a hose, I'm your girl. Got wicked aim. ;)

Much love,

Starbuck, that would be great if you can make it. I'll have the hose ready!!! There are a few neighbors who's pictures I can give you ahead, so you can be prepared.
I am in a suburb of Minneapolis.
Jaynee, I'm hoping you and Terry can make it. Since we are a hub for Delta, you can usually fly from here to anywhere, and normally nonstop.
Our house is probably only about a 20 minute ride to the airport and the Mall of America.

It's interesting to see how many people are from the Midwest. I envy those who have moved to warm climates.

As you know, I will be there! Looking forward to it Thanks for putting this together. We don't have to walk 5K first do we?

Terry & Jaynee - it would be so much fun if you two can come! I know we have some from Iowa, others from around MN and WI, and a few right in the Twin Cities area on the board. Anyone in the Dakotas, IA, WI or outstate MN up for a road trip? As Jeff said, lots to do close to the airport, including the MN Zoo and the Mall of America if someone wants to fly in from elsewhere.

Jeff, that sounds like fun but I don't think I can make it. Would love to visit there and see some sites, I'm a native Floridian :) Take lots of pictures. Maybe some of us in the south should try to get together????
