Postby dirtycolon » Mon Apr 09, 2007 11:34 pm

ok i have a serios colon problem. when i was young i always used to hold in my feces when i had to go becuss of being lazy and i also didnt relize that the pain of needing to go was good at that time. and now i have a serios stomach problem. im 16 and about 5 5 and 135 pounds. i have one of those skinny boyish looking bodies. i workout alot but seam like it doesnt do anything. and i think its cuss of my colon that my body is not developing as it shoud like other healthy teens. i have a really big stomach do to old feces being stuck. everytime i go out i always keep my stomach sucked in cuss its so embarising. it also feels like my feces is blocking my anus becuss when try to evacuate my feces does not come out as big and thick as it used to. now it juss comes in little pebbles little by little. and sometimes when i wipe my backside theres a little bit of light pink blood. ive always been worrying about this for about 9 years now but didnt really do anything about it becuss of thinkin that its not a big deal. my mom used to take me to the docter alot but all they would tell me is to eat a lot of fruits. that would help with the current bowel movements but i want to get all the old feces stuck in my colon out. i was wondering is there any way to do this. i am getting really desprate now. i tried whole poo load of laxitives and anemas but they all do jack about getting all the old compacted feces that is stuck to my colon. my friend told me that he had this thing where they pumped his feces out or something at the docter. i was wondering it there such a thing like that. when i look in the mirror and relax my stomach it looks like im pregnant and im getting really really desprate now. please can some one help me? i wish i can have that refreshing feeling when all your feces comes out and your stomach is normal  .man i would give 100 000 dollars for that feeling. thank you for reading

No problem

No problem at all. It sounds like you do notice that this is a serious medium for cancer talk.

With that said, I recommend you get to the doctor and check it out. You mentioned holding your bowel movement. I used to do that when I was very young. I don't know if it had anything to do with me getting cancer, but I did do it none the less.

The problem you describe seems quite unique and does not fit in with the "standard" symptoms of colon problems.....so definitely get to the doctor and have it checked out.

Could I ask how old you are? Possibly, could you state where you are from? I sense a little struggle with English. Are you from another country other than the U.S.?

The kind of doctor you want to see is a gastroenterologist. Depending on your insurance you may need to get a referral. If you've had 9 years of problems you should be seeing a specialist.

There are lots of possible tests to try to determine what your problem may be and probably a lot of possible causes too. Tests that may be ordered are abdominal ultrasound, barium enema, abdominal xray or CT scan, or a colonoscopy. If your stomach is constantly distended because of gas it may mean you have a partial blockage somewhere. It could also be that you just have constipation that needs stronger than OTC medicine to remedy.

It could also be that your stomach distension and bowel problems are completely unrelated. I have a good friend from college who could make his stomach look like he's 9 months pregnant at will. I seem to recall that it was naturally was that way and just taught himself to always suck it in.

My friend is 39 and has had no GI problems I know about, but that is a question you should ask a gastroenterologist. Good luck & I hope everything works out for you.

While I don't want to frighten you, get into see a gastroenterologist right away. If your regular doctor tells you it's not necessary, find another doctor who will write the order. I was misdiagnosed because I trusted my regular doctor and it has affected the rest of my life. Don't let anybody do a flexible sigmoidoscopy as a final measure of your problem. Instead go for the full colonoscopy instead and don't take "no" for an answer. You are courageous to speak so openly about this.
