Larry's scan results yesterday were good. We think. His oncologist is just thrilled. We (Larry and I) were a bit disappointed, but we're learning that perhaps our expectations are wrong.....
Anyway, these scans showed some shrinkage of most of the liver tumors. Stable pulmonary tumors. No new growth. Still not a candidate for ablation or resection of the liver, but oncologist was thrilled. So the plan now is four more rounds of Folfiri and Avastin, then scan again.
After three weeks off chemo and a break from all the side effects, it was a bit startling to see how much Larry's nose bled last night. It started out of the blue, lasted about 15 minutes, and stopped as quickly as it started. I was just starting to worry, and think about taking him to Urgent Care for help, when it stopped.
So, we are continuing on. Still praying for that miracle scan, but learning to accept stable and slight shrinking and no new growth for the victory that it really is. We really are grateful......
