I bought a juicer when I was on oxi the first time and I like apples (grannysmith) with a couple of strawberries and ginger root in it. The ginger also is a great antinausea. Other than that I like the tea with honey and lemon. I drank gatorade this time since it was here and my husband had big bottles of it that I could have sit by me and it didn't taste to bad. I'm a big water drinker but after chemo it does taste funky. Broth is another thing if you like the taste of it, sometimes I feel hungry and just the broth helps with the hunger plus your getting in the fluids. If you have problems with BP broth isn't good due to the excess amount of sodium.

NOTE TO ALL FOLFOX RECIPIENTS: The instant I was hooked up to the Oxaliplatin, the metal taste in my mouth began. I couldn't eat or drink anything w/o the horrible taste. It would begin to subside 2-3 days before my next treatment. Then the metal taste began again at the next treatment. At the beginning of my 5th or 6th treatment, a friend sitting with me offered me a piece of Big Red gum before my treatment started and I took it. There was NO METAL TASTE AT ALL when the Oxaliplatin started!!!! I was able to eat and drink normally after that. Before my next chemo treatments started, I always had a big wad of Big Red in my mouth! Now I have a good friend who started her first Folfox treatment today. I told her about the Big Red. She used it before they started and NO METAL TASTE AT ALL. She is able to eat & drink anything she wants! Spread the word and I hope this works for some others, as well!

I was XELOX, but had the metal taste and cold sensitivity. It got to the point where I was microwaving water because what came from the tap was too cold for me.

I had to drink my water warm, not just room temp. Things like warmed apple cider or tea also.

I’ve been having the same issue. I’m on round 5 of treatment and it has been very difficult to keep hydrated the first week after the removal of the pump. What seems to work for me is I drink warm water. I put it in the minor like a minute and drink it. Also I’ve been drinking sparkling flavored water.

Forgot to mention that Oxi also gave me "first bite pain". I read on here that swishing Apple Juice in your mouth before eating would help. Don't know if that's true or not but I did it and got used to drinking that during treatment.
