Good Afternoon

Postby cary » Mon Apr 02, 2007 12:33 pm

I am a new member of the Colon Club as of last night. I am a 2nd time stage 3 transverse colon cancer survivor. It started in 2004 and after surgery, colostomy, chemo (folfox), resesection, and remission of about 18 months.

Now...it's back. November 2006, in the colon and belly, surgery, current chemo (folfiri), positive results on recent PET/CT  , I'm fighting it again. I ride the bicycle alot and plan on finishing a 100 mile ride by 8/26/2007 in Philadelphia PA with Lance Armstrong Foundation. I'll keep you all posted on my training progress. I know it won't be easy as, like many of us, I experience chronic pain daily.

Some good news: Our son got married this past weekend. We were at full strength as we witnessed the ceremony which was outside, in 60 degree weather and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. A great spot to help restore your senses and remember the meaning of life , family and friends.

Sorry to hear it is back. You sound like you are a strong and healthy person. You beat it once and it sounds like you are on the road to beating it again. I wish you well - and good luck on your bike ride!
