One of Mary Catherine's students sang this song from Idina Menzel at her church this past weekend in memory of MC. What a touching song. It brought tears to my eyes. She definitely touched the hearts of many people with her knowledge, her wisdom, her humor, and her "voice".

Thank you so much for posting this. She sounds like a wonderfully unique individual, able to keep an honest perspective and still enjoy the hell out of life. I know I'll be remembering and trying to learn from her example as I go through my own battle. I wish I'd known her, but I won't forget her.

I was so paralyzed when I read this, I haven't been on the forum lately, and was so sad and surprised to hear about Mary Catherine, the words she wrote are so true and beautifully written. I feel so sad for your loss. Lately, I am just so angry at how much of my life is consumed by cancer.. I have to remember that there are still so, so many good days, her words are inspiration, thank you for sharing and God Bless her family!

PS. I loved her nickname, whenever I am down, belting out a song always makes me feel better.. and I definitely cannot sing!

Thanks for sharing. MC has touched so many of us. What a wonderful courageous woman. I am still shocked at her passing...especially when she was posting here only a month ago?? What on earth happened?

This was wonderful. I've gotten to know a number of you, but this lovely woman really reached out of the computer, grabbed my shoulders and shook them as hard as she could. She knocked some life into me.

I was heartbroken to know she was gone. a :(
rt. hemicolectomy April 3, 2009, dx. with Stage I colon cancer 3 days later. Clear margins, well-differentiated. This is my 3rd malignancy, and I am currently testing to see if I have a genetic mutation called Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.

Yes a very dear friend indeed.
It is also noteworthy to remember that our own Terminology and abbreviations sticky topic is entirely her inspiration, so her legacy lives on here for all members, new and veteran.

Justsing died shortly after I joined the Club, but I really admired her communication skills and sense of style. She is certainly missed.
