stomach virus

Postby mscheryl103 » Sun Feb 25, 2007 7:45 pm

my husband is taking chemo for colorectal cancer that has mestisized. he has been exposed to a stomach virus.. Trying to be real careful not to get it. He has had no vomiting with his chemo at all. Just wondering if anyone has been exposed and caught it, or not. He's very fortunate that he has not been sick at his stomach.

My husband got the flu during his 9th treatment. He had a high fever, chills, stomach pains, but no vomiting. His doctor initially told him to take tylenol for the fevers, but he then prescribed a med too. Basically he had to wait it out. He was instructed to get a lot of rest and drink a ton of fluids. It was out of his system in about 4 days. Fortunately, no hospital stay was necessary. If he does get sick call his oncology office and give them the symptoms. They will let you know what you should do.
My Husband was Dx with Stage III @ 26yrs old
Finished chemo March 2007
