Happy Birthday to Me!

Postby johnmeissner » Tue Jan 26, 2010 7:53 pm

Yesterday, January 25th, was my birthday. To celebrate, I had a colonoscopy. (Do I know how to celebrate, or what?) This, combined with the CT scan(It showed everything was normal) I had a couple of weeks ago, are the latest attempts to find the source of the abdominal pain I've been having for the last year. The surgeon, the same guy who did my resection 3 1/2 years ago, removed one polyp, which he sent off for testing, after telling me it looked benign. I should know the results next Monday. So, until then, I'll be sharing space with the 600lb gorilla again. And, since I'm in more discomfort now than any other colonoscopy I've ever had, I'm quite concerned. Prayers/good thoughts will be most appreciated. Thanks!

Having the colonoscopy is old hat for me. But right now, I'm experiencing much more discomfort than I ever have before. Any idea what's up? I'm sore enough that I may leave work early tonight.

Sorry about the pain but HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Birthdays are so special to me now. Befor CRC I avoided telling people how old I was as I was approaching 30. Now I would wear A pin that said I AM 31! if it were fashionable! I pooped my pants for the first time on my 30th birthday, at work, that was a huge head trip! 3 days later I was diagnosed.

Anyways, a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 8) Good luck with your results. I never had a polyp removed so I don't know how it feels afterwords, hoping for benign results, then you can go have another celebration. How long have you been NED?

I'm going to guess the pain is due to gas. Very vexing, but not dangerous. Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday JOhn! I hope you can go and celebrate it this coming weekend.

As for the pain it could be gas but if you start throwing up you should call your doc or if the pain is so bad you can't stand it. Want to make sure they didn't perforate anything.

Let us know that your alright tomorrow!

I've been "NED" since my resection August 21st, 2006, but have had several "scares" since. This one has my attention more than any other though.

I'm halfway through my night at work. I think I'll make it the rest of the way, but I'm not going to overdue it, if I start feeling worse.

No, the gorilla didn't get any cake. But, I opened my lunch box tonight and there's a banana in it. Weird, huh?

I spent all day in bed, still feel run down and slightly wurpy. Got up just in time to go to work. The work isn't hard, but it's very active. Over the past several months, I've found that the more active I get, the worse I feel. I sure would like to shake that trend, you know?

If I get to feeling as poorly as I did last night, my evening at work will be a short one. Wish me luck!
