This is such a lovely thread. It was so important to Terry, a very much loved member of the CC from many years ago.

It gives us a space to pray for each other. To believe, to fantasise that our prayers are answered how we think they will be.

Please pray for us, I have rectal cancer diagnosed in Aug, surgery will be on Oct 12 (very nervous to have major surgery, especially when the surgeon went thru all of the possibilities of complications/problems that could happen). I have 3 siblings and all 4 of us have dealt with cancer. One brother died of lung cancer about 10 years ago, and another found his prostrate cancer very quickly 5 years ago and is doing well, completely recovered. My third brother has brain cancer..he's been fighting it since Jan 2015 with chemo and radiation. And a friend is fighting breast cancer, she just had surgery a week ago. I will pray for all those on this site.

I'm Spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this Year

I see the countless Christmas trees,
Around the world below.
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear.
For I'm spending Christmas,
With Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs,
That people hold so dear.
But the sounds of music can't compare,
With the Christmas choir up here.

For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring.
For it is beyond description,
To hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart,
But I am not so far away,
we are really not apart.

So be happy for me, dear ones,
you know I hold you dear,
And be glad I’m spending Christmas,
with Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above,
I send you each a memory,
of my undying love.

For after all “Love” is the gift,
more precious than pure gold,
It was always most important,
in the stories Jesus told.

So please love and help each other,
as my Father said to do,
For I cannot count the blessings,
or the love He has for you.

So have a Merry Christmas,
and wipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas,
with Jesus Christ this year.

I can't tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas,
With our Savior, face to face?

I'll ask Him to light your spirit,
As I tell Him of your love.
So then pray one for another,
As you lift your eyes above.

Please let your hearts be joyful,
And let your spirit sing.
For I'm Spending Christmas in Heaven,
And I'm walking with the King.

Author: Wanda Bencke

Prayers for all those who are spending Christmas alone — for those who are spending their Christmas without loved ones who have gone on to be with Christ whose birthday we celebrate; those who are miles away from cherished loved ones; and for those now estranged from friends or family. May solace be found in the sweet memory of Christmases past and the hope of future brighter Christmases. May the love and assurance of our Lord and Savior surround them.

I too would love to have prayer please. I will also pray for all those going through this journey that you may find peace and healing.

Although I am currently NED, I sometimes struggle with the thought of it coming back, but then I remember one of my most beloved verses:
Psalms 46:10 Be still and know that I am God.

I could have never made it through this journey without my Lord, and I know he has kept me safe, and is restoring my health and my soul. I am forever grateful to be loved and in the hands of God. To God be the glory!

Thanks for bringing up this older post which I had not previously seen. I have relied tremendously on the Psalms over this past year and highly recommend them to anyone in need of prayer- not just for healing and comfort - but for any aspect of life, praise, joy, fear, wonder, etc. Here is another prayer I found today which paints a nice image: "Our prayers lay the track down on which God's Power can come. Like a mighty locomotive, His Power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails." Watchman Nee
