So does this mean you are going, that would be really great if you are! There are several Board members going from The Colon Club and we are working on some models and I will be promoting the Colondar there too! I am a mentor with C3, this will be my third year going and it is the most rewarding few days and very powerful too!

Last year I sat in on a very intimate meeting with Patrick Kennedy, about 20 of us, was very impressed by him and I am not even of that party. He is a champion of cancer legislation for obvious reasons! And I had some great discussions with him and I have heard rumblings a similar meeting will be held this year too.

Just being in DC and seeing how a bill becomes a law, because all newbies will be trainined on this. Then to go meet face to face with your congressmen/women and tell them your story and you will be heard!

If anyone has questions, please ask me, I know pretty everything about the Call on Congress because I am on the planning committee.

I hope to see more of you there this year!
Blessings,

I want to be clear on something The Call on Congress is NOT and I repeat NOT promoting any of this HealthCare Insurance stuff going on right now.

What we have been trying to do is to get HR1189 through Congress and into the Senate and this bill is SOLELY a Colo/Rectal Cancer piece of legislation. HR1189 was modeled after the Breast Cancer Reform Legislation passed some 10 years ago and we are trying to get the some type of legislation through. You can google HR1189 and read the bill if you want.

And I want to be clear that C3 has to be carefull or they will lose funding they cannot back a candidate for either party, However having said that any individual that works for C3 can have their own personal feelings and leanings, but as an organization all the legislation they are pushing is completely and 100% non-partisan. If you chose not to believe this then that is your choice, but truth is they really will lose funding if as an organization that back one party over another.

Just wanted to be sure that was explained clearly. All we want to do is get this legislation passed and we need YOU so YOU can go talk to your Congressperson. What happens is that we set up appointments for you to meet with your Congressional Rep and then you also meet with both Senator Offices, then if time allows and there is no one else there from your state you get to go to other Congressional offices from your state. And unfortunately not all statesd are covered and then that means no one goes and talks to any reps from those states and we cannot push through this legislation. Our goal has been to cover every state and that is why we need YOU to come!

Anymore questions then ask away!

As it stands now, I plan on going. But my CR Surgeons said that if the stabbing pain in my colon persists, they want me in for some emer tests. Had a hard time talking them out of heading to the ER yesterday....doh!
