nanoshells aimed at tumors

Postby mary » Sat Feb 03, 2007 3:21 pm

Hi everyone,

I am new here. I was wondering if anyone has heard of a new technology for tumors called "nanoshells"? I read an article about a scientist from Rice University named Naomi Halas who had invented them and they seem to destroy tumors. Has anyone else heard of these? I can't seem to find out when they are going to begin human clinical trials. I have read so many different dates--they say the company she works with, Nanospectra Biosciences, is seeking FDA approval.

Never heard of it. I'm going to have to look this one up. Thanks.

This is very exciting!!

By the time this makes its way to the FDA, I am planning on already being cancer free for years.
29, stage IV, diagnosed Oct. 2006, currently on Oxaliplatin, 5-FU, and Vectibix.
