hi,
great article i think it will get better year by year. lots of new therapies out there that were not available 5 years ago will be glad to see new statistics in a few years from now when they are available for drugs like avastin. there is hope for all of us new treatments and knowledge seem to pop up alot more lately and alot more people are living longer. i just wish more research was done for metastatic disease. i saw the cnn special the other night with lance armstrong who survived metastatic testicular cancer to the lungs and brain but doc on the show says more research needs to be done to stop metastasis.

MissJV or anyone,

I am sure a lot of the statistics for lower deaths is due to early detection. People getting tested earlier, and diagnosied in early stages.

I maybe in need of education, but what does metastasis mean, isn't it when it spreads to other organs. And wouldn't early detection, early stage, reduce this? Or is that to simple?

God Bless,
