again...

Postby sue » Sun Oct 11, 2009 6:59 pm

I just spent 4 more days in the hospital. My other lung lining filled up with pleural effusion--(a little over a liter for this one) like the other one did so I had to have it removed. Also my lungs are very weak from these the procedures and I couldn't come home until my lungs got to a certain oxygen level. I am still working on this at home. It is exhausting....but feels so good to be home.

Sue, did they say why this keeps happening to you? I'm sorry, this has to be tiring and frustrating.

Get better, FOR GOOD THIS TIME!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes.

Terry, no--on-one seems to know why this is happening although the fluid is red which 'could' mean cancer cells--but does not show up as cancer in the lab. Also, it can be from the lupus I have had for 25 years...it is taking me more time to recover this time. I am very weak as my lungs are too. I am doing lung exercises to try and strenthen them..GGRRR!!

I hate that you and too many others are having to battle cancer and the affects of treatments. I am glad that you are home; but, please be sure to follow you doctor's instructions. Sometimes, my husband gets too comfortable and I have to remind him to do his lung exercises and to get up and walk. I pray that you will get stronger.

Hello Friend,
I'm, sorry to here that you had to endure this procedure again. Jan is starting to have her right lung fill up again. She will have it drained on Monday. It makes me sad to know that both of you have to deal with this. Did you get put to sleep for the procedure? I pray that you heal my friend..Take Care, Debbie
