I just started today with it, so it cannot be the cause for me.
Before I used to take paracetamol which could well be... But maybe pain itself may induce some sweating...?

My feet cracked open on the soles, during my treatments, I thought that was neuropathy  I still use oxicodone on occasion, and my feet crack open a little.

Hi Olivia,
I am on one of the new type oxycodone tablets . It is called Targin I take 40mg of oxy twice a day but added to it is 20 mg of naloxone twice a day. There are two reasons for the new pills. The naloxone is an opiate antagonist. I get pain relief but I don't get high. It is partially to stop addicts getting scripts for oxy and using it to get high . If you take ten targin you don't get high you just get sick. The other reason for naloxone is opiate induced constipation. It is supposed to stop it. It does not work for me. each time I take a targin I have to take to dulcolax (biscodyl) and two to three coloxyl. I have a bunch of microlax suppositories in my medicine chest and I take at least two sachets of movicol a day. Surgery leaves a lot of us with areas of adhesions and if we are not very careful with opiates it can get very nasty very quickly. The opiates stop motility, the caterpillar action that moves food and waste thru the digestive tract. The only way to stop constipation is to restart the motility the dulcolax does that. With opiate induced constipation fibre and roughage don't work , they just build brick walls in your colon. The coloxyl and movicol are stool softeners. To move compaction you have to soften it. For stool softeners to be effective you must drink extra water. I have been on the opiates for nearly twelve months. I have gradually built up the dose. Each time the dose increases the constipation gets worse. We have a young American pharmacist working in a small town near where I live in Australia. He told me how to overcome the constipation. His first comment to me was don't treat it as a joke ,it can get really serious very quickly. He said even if you don't appear to be suffering from constipation get some of the laxatives ,some stool softeners and enemas and keep them on hand. He said that if you normally have one bm a day then if you go two to thee days without one do something before it gets too bad. I have a problem with apnea as well when I get blocked I get seriously low on oxygen because it restricts my breathing . I had a sleep test recently and when I am in rem sleep my o2 gets below80%. It scares the hell out of me. I know it is not a pleasant subject but I wish that my doctors had taken me aside and told me what the pharmacist told me before I started the opiates. I take them for grade two ankylosing spondylitis , psoriatic arthritis and severe peripheral neuropathy. Regards Ron.

I can deal with the night sweats for the pain relief. I find that as I am coming down, a lot of time in between doses, is when I get the sweats so if I stay regular, they aren't as bad. As far as the constipation. I never have that. I am still pretty loose 3.5 years post surgery. The pain pills actually help me and get me to a somewhat normal bowel movement when I am taking them.
Good luck,
Allen
