Re: 7 years clear, then BAM. :(

Thank you Hannahw, you brought up some good points. My husband has always let me "take on" his medical issues, sort of like sending in the tiger. It's worked well for all these years. But, having a fresh discussion with him will be important, so that he and I am on the same page when we se...

Re: For GUESTS who don't have Colon Cancer...

If the intent is to limit the forum to just those who have already diagnosed, then perhaps this is a gentler yet useful way to disuade those who are visiting before a diagnosis: To All Guests: We are a caring group of colorectal cancer patients and their supporters. This message board helps to bring...

Re: 7 years clear, then BAM. :(

Sorry to hear this . Did he not have chemo 7 years ago ? Maybe it is a different cancer ??? Will keep you in my thoughts . No, the original colon cancer cancer had not progressed beyond the polyp stem, so no further treatment was needed after the resection. Just thinking dosent colon cancer usually...

7 years clear, then BAM. :(

Today my husband's CT results came in. This is the news after being "cancer free" since a Stage 1 sigmoid resection 7 years ago: Multiple bilateral pulmonary nodules, with bilateral adrenal gland masses. Now we are needing to determine if perhaps it is not Mets colon cancer, but a totally ...

Re: For GUESTS who don't have Colon Cancer...

I will try to word this posting to be as non-offensive as possible, but I'm not sure I'm up to that much editing. I am new to this site. I was hopeful of finding suggestions, support, and mutual respect for what each of us bring to table ... or rather, to the forum. I am disheartened by this t...

Re: Wives of husbands with Stage IV Colon Freaking Cancer

Everyone, how much do you tell your children?

Diane, how much does your college age son know about his father's prognosis? How have you weighed the "info vs the worry" for your son while he tries to do his best away at college?

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's pain.

Re: Wives of husbands with Stage IV Colon Freaking Cancer

Thanks Lisa, I'll work up a new posting about ablation once I'm off "probation" in the forum and don't need to have each of my postings screened (which weeds out the spammers/trolls). Today my husband had a CT, the results should be ready in a few days, and then the oncologist will schedul...

Re: Wives of husbands with Stage IV Colon Freaking Cancer

Thanks for the welcome. He was just stage 1 then, there was not a spread beyond the stem of the polyp. He had a colon resection of the sigmoid section, and did not need chemo nor radiation due to the cancer cells not having been in the colon walls at all. He has done regular colonoscopys, and seemed...

Re: Wives of husbands with Stage IV Colon Freaking Cancer

Hello. I am here to introduce myself to this forum. My husband had colon cancer over 5 years ago, all has seemed fine until now ... but it looks like it has metastasized to his lungs. We have been through quite a bit medically over the years for various things, and I've already learned one thing: pa...
