Re: KRAS Mutation- any one long term NED?

Hi All, I needed a little boost today as it was my 3rd round FOLFIRI + Avastin and will be scheduling a scan after the 4th round to see if it made a difference. I know it won't be NED, but maybe, just maybe, a first step in that direction. I asked my ONC before starting the current regiment about th...

Re: Possible for long term remission with only chemo?

Hi Robin, I've never really told my story so the quick version of surgery 06/17, discovered FOLFOX totally failed with 1st post treatment CT scan -12/17 mets to liver/lungs. After scheduling 2nd opinion, PET scan and a break all came back to starting FOLFIRI+Avastin 02/18. Two days after 1st FOLFIRI...

Re: any peeps with BRAF mutation on here?

Hi Mrs. Z, I haven't checked in on Mr. Z and you in a while, but have kept you both in my prayers. I start Folfiri+Avastin on Wednesday and hope Mr Z. and I both have good responses to the Irinotecan. I was fortunate that the Mrs. and I got in a couple quick trips since my chemo ended in Dec.. I hop...

Re: Chemotherapy Journey

Chemo is harsh and constipation can be brutal. My constipation relief started on day one of the cycle by using 1 gelcap stool softner twice a day (recommended dose up to 3 gelcap daily). My GOTO that worked for me was room temp. apple juice to finally get things moving. After that, I kept taking 1 s...

Re: Chemotherapy Journey

I know several people have stated having "shocks" in their legs and feet when bending the head forward. Those may be tied to Lhermitte's Sign. Mine happen every time I tilt my head forward somewhat fast and started around cycle 9. I don't know if it affects the stomach area. As always, kee...

Re: Tribute to my dear friend Anne - aka BeansMama

My heart dropped to the floor a few minutes ago when I read about Anne. Although I never made personal contact, I read her posts and admired her will and ability to stay positive. I can only hope all of us face our trials half as well as she did. Prayers to the kids and the rest of the family and fr...

Re: Starting gabapentin

I noticed the tingling/numbness around cycle 2, but it would ease off by the before the end of the cycle. By cycle 4 or so it was more persistent and I started gabapentin. Cycle 8 OXI stopped due to infusion reaction and the neuropathy. I finished cycle 12 and have been on gabapentin 300mg since cyc...

Re: Rough end to 2017, 2018 ?

Thanks for the input. I already expect I will be changing my ONC just because of the available options locally. Yesterday I was in a funk, today I'm getting my battle spirit back. Still hoping on NEDville some day!
