Re: WHY did you pick your NAME here???

Well,....for one thing, it's a username that I've used for quite sometime in Linux and computer forums. Since the early 1990's, actually. And secondly,...I used to work the night shifts a lot. "Instrumentation Technician" at a large citrus juice plant,...then went into health care. Night s...

Re: Who just absolutely detests cancer today?

Who just absolutely detests cancer today? Me. Today I am extremely aware just how much I do detest cancer, and all that it does to ones life, and to the lives of those around us. That's because although (knock on wood) I am right now NED,....my only sibling (my 72-year-old brother) broke the news to...

Re: Recurrence always in your mind?

I guess I'm just a bit paranoid about the possibility of recurrance. I seem to worry about it pretty often, and think about what I would do,...that I need to get something like a pre-paid cremation service in place (so as not to burden my daughter if and when the time should come). And how I would e...

Re: PSK

I get my PSK ("Turkey Tail Mushroom") from Swanson Vitamins. Don't really know if they're organic, though. Went and looked closely at the bottles, but didn't find any info. The price was pretty resonable, though,.....so probably not. However, Swanson has been in business since about 1969, ...

Re: EXTRA OSTOMY SUPPLIES

.............one thing that has worked for me has been the BIOBIDET! I LOVE IT! I love it more than wine, more than cheese, more than tory burch shoes! Going to the loo is now something I look forward to, doesn't matter how many times I have to go. It's fun in there! :))))))) LOL!!!! Thanks for the...

Re: SO LONG STOMA and how to avoid the NG tube

I bought lots of creams and depends and pads, expecting the worst but its been very smooth sailing once I finally got out of the hospital. I did that exact same thing! Had a whole bunch of stuff I wound up never using. It just surprized me how well everything worked after getting out of the hospita...

Yup. That means I'll be turning 69! Not doing too bad on being physically fit (just did a 6-mile hike today). Now if I can just keep the cancer beast at bay,..............

Re: Getting the port removed

I'm keeping mine in for awhile. Guess it makes me feel better to do so. Like one of the really crazy oncologist nurses said "Wards off the evil spirits!"

I get the port flushed every few weeks, and intend to do so for awhile longer.

Re: Please no more miracle cure talks

I don't get very much "miracle cure" talk. That's because my family thought it was fairly serious at first, when I had my operations. Then they didn't want to talk about it at all....and acted as if "it's no big deal". Now that I'm NED for now,...they think that means I'm all 100...

...because it may get a little harder to have when you're stage III or stage IV? :) And congradulations on that equiptment,...sounds complicated. EDIT: I must explain that MOST of the time I really do try and keep a positive attitude (especially around family members). But I must admit that there ar...

Re: Staying NED from recurrences just "Blind Luck?"

It does however make you feel like your taking an active role in fighting the disease............. Yes! I think that's pretty much summing it up for me. Although I couldn't exercise yesterday and today, and I'm finding that I'm having a bit of anxiety and guilt over that. As if two days is going to...

Re: Staying NED from recurrences just "Blind Luck?"

I just have to ask, with all stuff you are taking, why you haven't asked your Oncologist about an aspirin regimen. ...actually that's one of the things I have been taking, with all the other stuff. (That's one of the things included in my putting "etc. etc. etc".) Yeah,..I feel like it ha...

Staying NED from recurrences just "Blind Luck?"

I am about 4 months out from chemo. I'm now pretty paranoid and fanatical about trying to do all that I can do to possibly deter any recurrence. This includes taking herbs and suppliments, vitamins, etc. etc. etc. (like PSK, cementidine, D3, Omega 3, you get the picture). And then there's the change...
