Re: Miralax Bowel Prep

miralax is sold in different sizes. one of them is sized at 238 grams. I have done several miralax preps with 64 oz of Gatorade and 238 grams of miralax. Tell the nurse she is mistaken for that dosage. . And yes , you do not want to use any red colored gatorades. apparently it inhibits contrast when...

Re: The end is near

Very sad. Things happen to all us for reasons we don't always see or understand. I believe your presence in this world has had great meaning. Very sad we don't always get to know or see what it is. Peace be with you.

Re: Oxaliplatin- only 8 rounds?

I did 10 of scheduled 12 neuropathy was getting more pronounced. I am almost 3 years out from last infusion. my feet are pretty numb, and I have tingling in my finger tips. My arms and legs fall "asleep" very easily now also. the eight round was my worst. we skipped the schedule and did nu...

Re: Infusion room question

thankfully I haven't had to be infused for almost 3 years now. but when I read your description and look at that pic, it instantly brings back an all to vivid memory. and it makes me shudder.

Re: I Think My Friend is Making a Mistake

If this is his first chemo infusion, I totally dont think he is making a mistake. I knew a lung cancer patient who did get very ill after chemo. Granted that was 20 years ago , but who knows what would happen the first time.

Re: Ileostomy bag help/advice

Where are you getting your supplies from? When I was on the bag, my supplier was very helpful in sending out samples of different products. they know all the products. After a few tries, I found something that worked pretty well. I know a lot of people have had success with those moldable seals. by ...

Re: Does waiting after radiation make surgery more difficult

quite the opposite. if they operate too soon in irradiated tissue, it can cause problems with suturing and its basically just not stable tissue yet.

Re: LAR --any good outcomes?

Wish I could say I had a good outcome. My tumor was 5 centimeters large and maybe half a centimeter from the anal verge. my surgeon was able to reconnect without a permanent ostomy. 2.5 years later I struggle with constipation, then clustering. I don’t know if my remaining colon is just dead from ra...

Re: Help with chemo

Cherie, it suks, bigtime. but, no one is forcing you to take chemo. you decided to all on your own. now that you have made that decision, its time to move on. the only way I know of to get through the bad times, is to live one day at a time, one hour, one minute. you can NOT look ahead or back. you ...
