Re: When Does the Survival Clock Start?

I asked my Onc. He said first scan after chemo. Butt! Since I had a PET scan a month after surgery and was NED I'm going to use surgery date. I don't care what he says. :)

Re: probably a stage 4 question....

Jill - I'm sorry you are carrying such heavy burdens right now. This will probably shock Kenny, butt - even though I am a person of faith (Christian), I most definitely believe that I would want the death with dignity option. Oh, and I've been known to say a few four letter words myself. :) I'm not ...

Re: Stage 2b

Hi and welcome. I was diagnosed with colon cancer (sigmoid) on April 7, 2014. I was staged 2a. My Onc gave me the option of chemo or no chemo. Like peanut, I opted to do the pill form called Xeloda. I won't lie, there were some tough times with hand/foot syndrome - the six months passed quickly and ...

Re: Memorial/wake?

Kenny, I have some Buddhist friends who have a tradition of washing their friends' bodies after they die. I told them to keep their mitts off of me!. Skypup- it does seem a little strange, huh? However, I feel differently about it now. My MIL (Japanese and Buddhist) recently passed away. The care f...

Re: EUS tomorrow - few questions

I recently had an EUS and colonoscopy on same day. GI gave me his findings verbally after the procedures and a complete written report the next day. As Kenny said, the magnesium citrate - just drink it down. I only had to use it once and I just took a deep breath and guzzled it down. Over all, it wa...

Re: Colonoscopy every 3 years if first colonscopy after surgery clear?

I have lab work done every three months - which includes the CEA. For whatever reason, my Onc won't do the CA125 even though I have requested it as well as the CA19-9. I see my Onc every three months but I think that will change to every six at the two year mark. I don't know why there are so many d...

Re: Time to play ball, I guess.

Kenny - I know you're concerned about the Folfiri but you are active and in good shape so maybe it won't be tough to handle for you. I'm hoping that the treatments won't have any side effects and will shrink those lung thingies. Keeping my fingers crossed, swinging chickens, thinking good thoughts, ...
