Re: Meridian, Chang, Nesselhut and Reality

Julie - Dr Chang didn't prescribe me any supplements... With the dendritic cell, I got IL-4 and leukine (paid for by insurance), 1000 mg Zeloda per day (metronomic dose) and I think he had me take 5,000mg vitamin D a day which I bought at CVS. One of the white blood cell builders I inhaled and the o...

Re: Johns Hopkins Immunotherapy Paper: 100% CRC cure rate in a poorly immunogenic CRC Mouse Model

Could someone please explain what the science means? I clicked the link and read the article abstract- only thing I got out of it is that "dithio diastereomer" would be a great name for a Harry Potter character...

Re: Calling all caregivers recipes

I might post some recipes but first I will recommend to you two cookbooks by the same author, Rebecca Katz. The books are The Cancer Fighting Kitchen and One Bite at a Time . You may have received an email or Facebook post with a magic mineral broth recipe? It's in one of these books. http://www.reb...

Re: Need help understanding MRI report

Hi BoxofRain ~ Are you seeking to be cured, or just live longer? Also I didn't understand whether you did get the PET scan translated or not? If the suspicious sites are cancerous, you would light up like a christmas tree under a PET, so that would be a pretty important piece of info for you. But th...

Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

Pattie - Good luck to your husband. I'm crossing my fingers that he gets in!

Has he tried Stivarga? Nasty drug but did me some good. Of course, if he gets into the trial, no chemo.

Re: Insurance denial advice.

How do you fight an insurance company? Seriously. I haven't had to do this yet. But what is the procedure? Time is not on our side, us cancer patients. Does a company have a certain amount of time to respond, or..? What kind of paperwork do you have to submit? Do testimonials (like the links others ...

Re: Decoder Ring For Doctor Speak

I don't know .. but I saw this article in Mother Jones right after I read your post...it was supposed to be funny, but as a patient I'm not really laughing so much. I really hope that my doctors don't suffer from what I call "client fatigue", as some of the professionals do in the article ...

Cancer Treatment Garden

HI, all. I was at a local park today and discovered that they have planted a "cancer treatment garden" consisting of medicinal plants from which chemo drugs have been made and might be made. They are called "cancer fighting plants." How cool is that, eh? 8) ( No MJ though!! ) H a...

Re: Best place/doctors for Second Opinion?

HI - What sorts of answers are you looking for in a second opinion? Are you looking for doctors who would validate your husband's current treatment? Are you looking for a facility that might cure him? Or are you interested in comfortable life extension? With liver and lung mets, a cure is likely imp...

Re: Favorite Educational Cancer Website

I'd have to say the American Cancer Society website - http://www.cancer.org - is the best I've found, because it contains so much information that is professionally written. ACS also has a forum site, Cancer support network - link here to the colorectal forum http://csn.cancer.org/forum/128 - that i...
