Re: "Hostile abdomen" club

Count me in as well, have had about 15 blockages, 7 required ER and admission to the hospital, had 2 surgeries to remove, but each surgery puts you at risk for another SBO....very scary and frustrating.

Re: Personal advice really needed

My brother is a big moocher. In the middle of my chemo last year , he and his girlfriend decided to come visit me in sunny Calif from Maryland. It was not to spend quality time with me but rather use my home and kitchen as a base camp of sorts. I told him that this was too hard on me.....they ended ...

Re: Biopsies

The odds for seeding seem relatively low however, if it grows it is probably bad ,hence would skip the biopsy and have it resected.

Re: Crazy cancer anxiety vs. legitimate concerns -- how do you differentiate?

I agree with Kenny...you have gotten great news......the anxiety over all this can cause most of the symptoms you are worrying about. I have many of those fears myself...but I've had reccurances in lungs and liver,
I find when I relax a bit much of my pain goes away.

VATS

Been watching 2 small lung nodules for the last year or so .... one growing from appox 5mm to 8mm the other from 6mm to 10mm .....consulted with Thoracic surgeon today, he says it's time to take them out via VATS or treat with CyberKnife. (Colorectal onc is pushing for a biopsy first) I am inclined ...

Re: Venting

I know the stress is unbearable, but best not to feed into it.....take a few breaths....gather information, then come up with a plan. I've been dealing with both advanced prostate cancer and rectal cancer and somedays I think I'm losing my mind....takes a real effort to slow down, cause freaking out...

Cymbalta duloxetine

Anybody have any experience with this drug ? My doc has recommended it, but after reading about all the side effects I'd rather get drunk and stand on the freeway (just kidding).

I was feeling much better within 3-4 weeks, appetite returning, taste buds much improved......by 6-8 weeks pretty much back to normal except the neuropathy which I still have 2 years out from folfox.
