Re: Further updates and questions - MD Anderson..

Friday before a 3-day weekend is a fluster-cluck at every business, medical or otherwise.
The senior staff in particular have already headed out of town with their families.

Re: Please help, questions, fevers on Xeliri and Avastin

Sweats/chillls are often common with chemo, as the body adjusts to the recent chemical assault from an infusion. Sweating/chills is NOT one of the listed major or minor side-effects of Avastin. But it might be the new combination that's confusing his body's reactions. If he has a fever above 102, or...

Re: O/T - question about reporting disability fraud

Thanks SS, very good perspective of what it means to be 'disabled'.

And thanks for looking out for those wild animals!!
When I was in Africa in Peace Corps, I saw lions, hippos, wildebeasts, and baboons at close quarters.

Re: Weird swallowing question

Like we don't have enough problems below the stomach  There's a valve there, the lower esophageal sphincter, that prevents stomach contents from coming up, and controls burping. It can be lightly damaged by acid reflux, resulting in tht feeling. I get the same feeling for about a day at the UP...

Re: How do you decide to stop treatment?

Thanks for starting the thread!

My own 'final' issues will probably surface in the next year, so I have many thoughts on the topic.
Too many to address now, so I'll post a little essay here shortly.

Take care, Rick

Re: O/T - question about reporting disability fraud

I'm in no way a proponent of Big Brother, but I do get incensed by those who play the system in any manner. Food stamps, SSI, in-state tuition, etc. The system can only work if we all cooperate, That includes dropping a dime on cheats. There's a reason he's sweating an upcoming review: Somebody else...

Re: Farewell, Erbitux

Yeah, the sandman effect is a little bothersome. Just a tiny grain develops at the inner corner; also some crusting of the eyelashes, Since Erbi is such a suck of magnesium, I wonder if the little grains aren't mag salts of some kind? Congrats on completing this regimen, fingers crossed you can have...

Re: PET Scan Report Help Please

I'm sorry the scan wasn't more definitive and didn't give all the answers you, and the docs, want and need. At this time, I think you're experiencing information overload, and becoming unduly anxious as a result. Plain and simple, nothing significant will change in the next couple weeks, and the onl...

Re: Thank you

Matt- Welcome to the site that no 27-yr old should ever have visit. Your symptoms describe just about every possible bowel issue, disease, and syndrome there is. And IBS, diverticultis, Crohn's, etc. are much more common than CRC. So there's much reasonn for you to imagine that you have a lesser con...

Re: Massage??

We aren't lepers, there's no reason for anybody to avoid touching us. I have never heard such an admonition as 'no massage for you'. *Some* patients may have a largish tumor near the skin surface that might be disturbed during a deep-tissue massage. I have a large tumor in my abdomen, and I just cau...

Re: and another treatment question

When a surgeon is operatin in an open ab domen, removing a tumor from the ascending colon, s/he is in a position to visually observe many organs, including the ler front portion of the liver. S/he can manipulate some of the organs a little bit for a better view of their outer surfaces. A liver can b...

If your concern relative to this possible cancer cure is financial, dependent upon whether you can make a profit....
