In ICU with possible kidney failure

DH was 5 days into his 3rd round of xeloda when he began feeling poorly. He's been taking 2,000 mg. xeloda twice a day for 2 weeks, then one week off. He is also on weekly infusions of erbitux. CEA after one round of the xeloda increased from 6.9 to 8 (that was 3 weeks ago, and he was supposed to be...

Re: My surgery wasn't a success

Dear Megan - I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am that your surgery didn't turn out as you had hoped. My husband has had that happen twice this year, and I know how devastating it is. You have good reason to fight hard with your 3 children at home, and I do hope you have a great support system t...

Re: Twisted Kenny! Scan results??

Hi Kenny, My DH is currently taking 2,000 mg. xeloda twice a day, and Celebrex 200 mg each morning. May I ask if you take celebres with each dose of xeloda? Do you continue celebrex on your weeks off xeloda? DH's onc. wrote a prescription for celebrex b/c we requested it. His response was "I do...

Eribux rash and CEA levels

Dear CC friends, My DH and I have been on one heck of a ride lately. On Aug. 26th, HIPEC surgery and liver resection were aborted when microscopic mets were noted over all areas of the liver. The discovery was not found until DH's abdomen had been opened with retractors in place. The result was a hu...

Re: Clinical Trial - Round 1 - Strike 1!

Belle - You are indeed a hero! I am so impressed with your courage. I join the others on the board in thinking the clinical trial folk should arrange a hospital stay during the next infusion, at no expense to you. I do hope the pre-meds keep you comfortable, and I'm very hopeful this research will l...
