Re: FOBT

My 2 cents I had a negative FOBT and a year later was found to have a tennis ball size tumor which my surgeon said would of been there when I did the FOBT. My surgeon told me that he could send 100 patients with actual colon cancer to do the FOBT and 40 would test positive. The test is not very accu...

Re: Tumor gone, cea level of 1

Yes You are stage III which means you have node involvement. Do yourself a favour have the surgery and do the mop up chemo and put that final nail in the cancer coffin. I wanted to be able to say I did everything possible in case I had a recurrence there would be no 'what if's' I also had no tumor a...

Re: How many diagnosed have family with history?

You are due for a scope now. Do not put it off. I have been told by doctors that they will usually start scopes on sons and daughters of CRC parents 10 years prior to when parent was dx. I was dx at 53 and my daughter has been told they will start at 40 with her. I would prefer earlier for her to ge...

Re: Tom marsilje

Tom always had 'the eye of the tiger' in his battle. I always read his blog and know that he literally helped thousands battle cancer. He will be missed and my condolences to his wife and two daughters.
As a CRC advocate he will be hard to replace.
RIP Tom

Put that final nail in the cancer coffin.
If you ever did get a recurrence there will be no what if's.
I did and would do it again.

Congrats

Re: The Grim Reaper took another swipe at me !!

Bryan Murray was a lifelong hockey guy. Always a class act and since his dx became a real advocate for getting colonoscopies.

Re: CEA update

Hey Jay Great news about CEA. I know the feeling with the fluctuating numbers. I had bloodwork yesterday for my six month check next week. My onc always says CEA is just a number and it is the trend she cares about. Told me I spend too much energy fixating on the number. She says that she will tell ...
