Re: Grieving my past life and no one understands

Hey T&T I understand and most here will also. In 2013 I was exactly in your shoes although I was a bit older, I was 53. ( Well a bit more than a bit) I had no idea of what my future was going to be like or even if I had a future. Yes, you are in for a bumpy ride like all of us on here so buckle ...

Re: This cancer is getting to my head and I need some help

Hi Paul I too went through the relentless 'scanxiety' through my journey also. I remember seeing this quote on another members signature back when I first joined in 2014. I read it every single day. "Live your life like it's going to be a long one, because it just might, and then you'll be glad...

kick'n ass cancer's ass

Seven years ago I entered the month of February not even knowing if I would see another January. I was absolutely terrified. I had just completed my five weeks of chemo/rad and I was now preparing for what my doctor referred to as the big operation. Big, was an understatement. It would be a six hour...

Re: I will always be grateful I found Colon Talk

That is a beautiful tribute about who we are here and what we all do here. We care for each other, the people inside the disease, and let the doctors take care of the disease inside the people. The strength of this forum IS it's members. I have actually come to view the "In Memoriam" topi...

I will always be grateful I found Colon Talk

Chapter 32 of my 'kick'n ass cancer's ass" journal Over the course of writing this journal, I have mentioned a few times how valuable the Colon Talk forum has been to me personally during my journey. I stumbled across the forum by accident a couple months after I was diagnosed. I read every day...

Re: Positive fecal occult test

I had the fecal test and it came back normal. Within a year I was dx with a tennis ball sized tumour. Dr. said it had been growing for years and he could send 100 colon cancer patients for the fecal test and only 40% would have a positive. Fecal test only detects traces of blood in the stool. Not al...

My 2157 day journey ended today

It was two thousand one hundred and fifty-seven days ago when I was diagnosed with rectal cancer and my journey began. What a journey it would become, it wasn't easy. My life would now be forever changed. I had no idea what my future would hold let alone if I even had a future. Today, for the last t...

Re: O/T : I wish Brownbagger were here

From my journal Eric’s motto was simply “Live your life like it is going to be a long one, because it just might, and then you’ll be glad you did.” For whatever reason no other member captured my attention like Eric had. His motto had simply stuck in my head since I first read it back when I signed ...
