DH 1-Year NED

DH and I survived the nerve-racking first scans after chemo, and we are happy to report NED at 1 year. I'm so grateful to Colon Talk for being here to guide me. :)

Re: Diverticulosis on colonoscopy?

The thing that bothers me is if it has been there all along, why didn't the surgeon cut it out? It's in the left colon where the cancer was. If it was there, did he not see it? If it wasn't there, why would it appear only 1 year out from surgery. It's just weird to me. It's little things like this t...

Diverticulosis on colonoscopy?

This was not seen on DH's last colonoscopy at the time of diagnosis. Does anyone have any insight on this? Could chemo have caused it? Otherwise, his colonoscopy was normal.

Re: Anyone deal with lymphedema after colon cancer??

My husband had swelling of his feet, wrists and hands a couple of weeks ago. Got it checked out by the doc. He was not very concerned, and now it appears to be getting a lot better. :)

WOW LPL. Thanks for sharing all of that. I don't feel so alone now. The UA and chem panel were normal. CEA is only 1.2 . It's still a mystery. Colonoscopy Thursday and CT 10/3. Will update :) Have a great weekend.

Wow Sharon. Yes, that is exactly how I feel. Waiting for the other shoe to drop. Did your husband have a recurrence 8 years later or did I read that wrong? Wow. I'm so sorry.

Thanks Ron's wife. Long walk, workout at gym, homemade soup and chamomile tea all helped a lot. :)

Re: Wives of husbands with Stage IV Colon Freaking Cancer

Hi caregivers, I haven't read this entire thread, but today I have a great need to post as a caregiver. My DH is stage 3, but I bet you can help me. I freak out at every little thing. Once he had a bump on his leg and I thought the cancer spread. He was acting very crazy at diagnosis, and I thought ...

Re: Total body swelling, lymphedema?

Saw onc this morning. He didn't think the swelling is from water (?????). He talked about albumin and ordered a comprehensive metabolic panel, CEA,UA and CT. He did not seem very concerned. Will update.

Total body swelling, lymphedema?

DH's entire body is swollen. He gained 10 pounds in a week. Called onc. Was told it isn't normal and needs to be checked out. Appointment is Monday. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Lymph node question.

Hi Pita.

I tried also. I did find a couple of articles on lymph node ratio. I was just thinking that the more lymph nodes they take the better, but it is starting to look like it doesn't work that way. ;)
