Re: UPDATE advice needed - I'm in the hospital with ovarian cyst

Ugh...so sorry for the news. But glad that you had this taken care of so soon! And very happy you are feeling good enough now to post. What you do next will depend on the path report and your doctor's advice. My doc (mskcc) has always recommended no chemo after my surgeries, aside from my initial re...

Re: advice needed - I'm in the hospital with ovarian cyst

I'm sorry you're going through this right now. I'm sorry also that I'm about to give you a different opinion, based on my own experience. Get that cyst removed. It's causing you pain & fever...and mental anguish and uncertainty. The procedure will be laparoscopic and you'll be out that day. I ha...

Hi Jen! I visit this site randomly these days, and today I am thrilled to see your post. I don't know if you remember but we talked on the phone a few years ago, as I was deciding on HIPEC. You gave me great advice and made me feel hopeful. So thank you for that!! I am glad you are doing well!! I've...

Re: Help me not get so sick please

Hi..I'm so sorry you had a rough time. I also a hard time with nausea while on FOLFOX. It took until maybe my 4th or 5th round to get a handle on it with the right combination of nausea meds. So I do have advice, so you might not have to go as long as I did. First, take Ativan starting the day befor...

Re: So much ridiculousness don't even know where to begin

I got the rash from Stivarga too. I was prescribed oral steroids and cream to treat. And I was taken off the Stivarga, because I was participating in a clinical trial to determine Stivarga's use as a 2nd line treatment. My next scan showed shrinkage. If I wasn't part of the trial, my doc would've pr...

Hi..I'm so sorry you are going theough this, but as someone who has been there, done that, I hope I can offer support. Go to your pool party and have a great time. Talk about with friends, if it feels right. Or just smile and say "I'm ok, let's talk about it another time." Enjoy the normal...

Re: New CDC anti smoking commercail and colosomy bag :(

I think the purpose of these ads are to shock people who smoke. And there are links to smoking and CRC. I've also read about links to CRC from second hand smoke. So as a never-smoked-a-puff in my life person, I applaud any tactic to get smokers to stop. Wearing a bag isn't the worse thing that can h...

Re: Ovarian Cysts - Ladies, can you help?

Hi...so sorry that you are worried. I had an ovarian cyst that was causing me an ache as you described. I had numerous tests, U/S, etc., and watched and waited through a few menstrual cycles. The cyst did not go away, wasn't too large, and my onc told me he wasn't worried. But I was really worried, ...

Re: Chemo after HIPEC

Hi, I had HIPEC almost 18 months after completing FOLFOX for Stage 3C. Then I had a met to an ovary, which burst before removal. Despite a negative pathology for the fluid from the burst ovary, I pursued HIPEC...because I feared spread in the peritoneal cavity. HIPEC went well, omentum removed and n...

Re: information and questions about HIPEC

Hi...I'm sorry you're going through this. I just wanted to share my story with you. I was also a HIPEC patient of Dr. L., whom I love. I was diagnosed at 3C with tumor just above rectum. I had surgery before chemo, no radiation. Chemo was 12x FOLFOX, but oxi was discontinued after round 8, due to an...
