Re: A naturally-occurring molecule shows promise as effective first-line treatment for prostate cancer (Carnosine)

Thanks. That should bring up the supplement, zinc carnosine, as an interesting candidate for further investigation with prostate cancer, as one of the carnosine sources, since zinc is also a prostate cancer treatment candidate. My prior familiarity with zinc carnosine comes from gut, ulcer and mucos...

Re: High dose vit C 24hrs after infusion??

Ive started wondering lately as to why there is such a huge push for IVC? Why some people are such advocates? IVC now has better documentation for some aspects of inflammation and cancer since 2000, so perhaps less resistance in some places. People who have been in bad, painful and/or fatal situati...

Re: High dose vit C 24hrs after infusion??

You should leave 24 hours between IVC and the infusion. Do you know why that is? No ... but I'm getting my IVC from a naturopathic doctor who is board-certified in oncology and that was her advice when I asked the same question. I've never seen published stats or trials that support any particular ...

Re: Full Pathological Response

. . . It is once again Nobel-prize winning Linus Pauling, PhD with Ewan Cameron, MD, a Scottish cancer surgeon, who, over 40 years ago, demonstrated the effectiveness of ten grams (10,000 mg) of vitamin C a day in reversing terminal cancer in thirteen out of 100 patients. These patients were given ...

Re: Full Pathological Response

My survival was less than 1%. But I am still here. Cancer free 4 years later. Be careful which sets of statistics, you use for what purpose. SEER statistics dated to particular years are some versions. Various odds change a great deal depending on what techniques and technologies are used, especial...

Re: STAGE IV RC GUYS AND GALS

Right now, I am taking 28,000 IU of vitamin d3 weekly. I take a combination supplement with vitamin d3/k2(MK4). I should probably increase my dosage. That's only 4000 iu/day (the current, *way* too conservative UL that should have been 10,000 or at least 5,000 iu/day). What's your 25-hydroxy vitami...

Re: STAGE IV RC GUYS AND GALS

In retrospect, I should have gotten FOLFIRI sooner. After my VATS, I was only given the option of XELODA. I should have advocated for FOLFIRI then, so that is my mistake. Live and learn, I guess. In the US, we would take the xeloda scrip and morph it into Adapt+++. The real question now, is whether...

Re: STAGE IV RC GUYS AND GALS

No, I actually started FOLFIRI based on positive Signatera test from July of this year. CT scan in July was clear of any new lung nodules. New lung nodule didn't show up on CT until this month . My onc wanted to be proactive because as you know, positive Signatera means an eventual recurrence. So I...

Re: Cross eyed and confused with vitamin D

25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) is the major circulating storage form of vitamin D. 25(OH)D is the first and most common value checked, the one that regular drs will say under 20 ng/mL (50 nmol/L) is deficient and various endocrinology societies have quoted under 30-32 ng/L (75-80 nmol/L) as insuffici...

Re: Chance of cancer coming back over time

I was stage 2a after surgery in 2014. The oncologist said that I have a 10% to 15% chance my cancer will come back. I hope this isn't a stupid question. Does that 10% to 15% chance go down each year that I remain cancer free after surgery? I didn't do chemo because the oncologist said the side effe...

Re: Growth whilst off treatment

In hindsight can appreciate it seemed like a pretty odd question. Maybe I should have specified quick growth, within a month or two. Whilst waiting for treatment to start. That would depend on the specific biology of the cancer including any mutations etc though in terms of growth rate. I was just ...

Re: IVC and weekly FOLFIRI

For those who wish to maintain a high Vitamin C level, there is a new alternative. There is a supplement that repairs the liver so that it can convert sugar into Vitamin C. Until we see qualified, independent technical reports of vitamin C blood level profiles over time (pharmacokinetics) for oral ...

Re: 5FU and folic acid

In the US, it is any grain or grain product IIRC. Have to be careful, almost paranoid in countries that fortify with folic acid. For my wife it was really multi B complex pills with folic acid rather than bread, gravy and cereal bowls. For about half the population genetics, it's any folic acid with...

Re: IVC and weekly FOLFIRI

All the cancer patients here that I am aware of have, have capped their single day IVC dosage at 1.5 grams per kg or lower. More vitamin C per day is possible but tedious to start with, and progressively more difficult physiologically on ion/electrolyte balances. One clinical study suggested that th...

Yes. 5FU - folic acid is the original analysis.
