Re: Never able to be cured....I need u guys more than ever

I've followed juliej's journey since I arrived here on Valentine's day, 2014. She always has good advice from a personal perspective. She's full of accurate information.

Re: New member thoughts on being "cured"

I don't use the term "cured" in reference to my bouts with two forms of cancer. I've adjusted my mind to not think of it on a daily basis. I have definitely made adjustments to my life as far a diet and exercise is concerned. I prefer to say there is "no evidence of disease" in t...

Re: Input Regarding Continuing Oxi with Neuropathy Present

I guess I'm the outlier so far. I had 12 infusions with FOLFOX with full oxaliplatin. If I had to do it all again,I would. This is not to say everyone should follow the same course. Each person is different and is diffenently affected by the same drugs. I talked with my doctor before each infusion, ...

Re: Two days prep

To me, the most important issue is stated as follows: They (the doctors) all say it gives them the best "visuals". I had a colonoscopy in 2008 (after using the "drink a gallon of liquid" method). The doctor said it was perfect and told me to come back in 10 years (2018). Due to l...

Re: 5 year scans

I never had the patience to wait for the results when visiting the oncologist. I went back to the imaging facility and got the results a day or two after the scan. That way I knew what the results were before I saw the oncologist. Then I just shook my head when she read the results as though I had n...

Not in the same boat. But I want to ask you to stay positive ! I know it's difficult at times, but you've got to do it and can. It sounds like you and your doctors have a great plan, so hang in there ! Andre

Re: Neuropathy question

I finished chemo in August, 2014. I am Type 2 diabetic, so had a little neuropathy before chemo. I still have some, but I can live with it. My feet do act up when I go outside barefoot in cold weather. Put shoes on....no way. Don't have the time to fool with that lol

Re: Quick intro -- diagnosed Friday

At some point, you may want to start walking or jogging instead of going to the gym. As time went by, I became more and more tired, but could also determine how far I could walk each time. The main thing is having some type of physical activity in association with how tired you are feeling. Keep up ...

Re: Quick intro -- diagnosed Friday

During my first infusion, I had moo shu pork :D Drank cold beverages up until my body said "Oh no you don't." That was around the third or fourth round, I also liked Lemon Head candy, soups and Pellegrino. You will do just fine. One day at a time !

Re: My wife, 10 years NED - stage IV

Congratulations to your wife. I was taken aback when I first read the title of your post. I thought your wife was 10 years NED and then was diagnosed Stage IV. Glad I clicked on and found out the GOOD NEWS! :D You can't judge a book by its cover (in my case). Nevertheless, I'm so happy for you, your...
