Re: What happens at the end of adjuvant therapy?

PS: to your question on timing, in your case provided your post-chemo scans are all clear, you are generally considered to be “NED” from the date of your surgery (not the date you finish chemo). Just one for the calendar :D

Re: What happens at the end of adjuvant therapy?

So typically here it’s a bit of both. Your oncologist will likely arrange quarterly surveillance scans and blood tests for at least the next 2 years (after which you might review the frequency). You can ask for more frequent bloods if you want - eg monthly. Your surgeon should receive copies of the...

... Typically I'm a side sleeper who moves side to side often plus I get up normally 3-4 times a night to visit the bathroom . ... Joe Another thought: Maybe your frequent trips to the bathroom are related to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). In your blood test panels do they test for the PSA mar...

Re: New guy with old questions.

Agree with other comments that sleeping with the “ball” type pump was no issue for me. I kept the ball on top of the blankets so it wouldn’t get tangled up, and then just slept on my side as normal. I also understand you don’t want to overheat the ball too much (as it’s thermally activated) so anoth...

Re: Lung mets cough

Did you take the covid vaccine? Did your cough start afterwards? From what I've read, those who have taken the covid vaccines and boosters should take a D-Dimer test for micro coagulations in the blood, which clogs the arteries. Sorry for the delay on this one, I have had Covid vaccines but nothing...

Re: 《 The Times They Are a-Changin' 》

RP I’m not aware of any issue discussing or linking between this group and FB - I must admit I don’t do it very much (probably just because the interface between platforms is manual and clunky), but no other good reason. The FB groups I admin are all private so I can’t link to or post content here (...

Re: Liver surgery?

Amazingly I faced a very similar decision around a year ago, just over 4 years after initial diagnosis. Do a portal vein embolisation (PVE) then resection of a significant liver lesion including 2 hepatic veins and an extrahepatic lymph node, or SBRT radiation of both liver lesion and lymph node. I...

Re: What to do for continuous anal pain

I can empathise, and I’m sorry. What you’re experiencing is horrible, and the worst pain I encountered over my 5 years of treatment to date, including 4 major surgeries. The only thing that really made a difference for me was opioids (oxycodone), and cannabis products (not together, although also no...

Re: 《 The Times They Are a-Changin' 》

I beg to differ. Many people, especially younger ones, do not use Facebook, nor they want to. It's Facebook that is dying out if anything. I agree as a broad theme. I’m involved with a number of quite high volume FB groups, and constant topic of discussion and concern amongst Admins is how we can m...

Re: YAG laser qualifying criteria questions - Germany

Are you a candiate for liver and lymph removal? Maybe send scan with questions to Dr. Kern and Dr. Plones to see what it takes to be a candidate? Couldn't hurt. The lung function test is hard. They put the mask on you to read the carbon dioxide I think you are producing and it makes it hard to brea...
