What does KRAS Wild mean?

Hello Again, The onc told us today that Ron's cancer is KRAS wild. What does this mean? I am too drained right now to even look this up! Generally, is this good or BAD? I had an eye exam last Monday, 10/24, and was told I have mild cataracts in both eyes. The left one is worse. I feel that we just C...

Re: Bad news on 10/18 CT scan!

Ron had his comprehensive onc visit today and they are going to put him back on the very strong chemo. The CT scan showed increased cancer in his liver, a larger spot on his lung (which they think is cancer also), and now, a little cancer in his prostate, or possibly inflammation. The larger liver s...

For liver, I would suggest looking into HAI pump, MSK is where most go for it.

Here is a search here

Re: Side effects of Capecitabine, or Xeloda

Is he on anything in addition to xeloda? Is he still taking avastin? I was recently switched to xeloda (from 5FU) due to port migration resulting in removal and found xeloda to have less effects than 5FU. I understand that everybody is different, though. Yes, he is still getting Avastin by infustio...

Re: Alcohol and Capecitabine

I had wine, beer and gin while on capecitabine and Avastin - my onc had no problem and I'm still here 11+ years later. All things in moderation................. WOW!! 11 years! Lately Ron is feeling that this will be his LAST Christmas! Do you mind if I PM you so I can learn more about your story? ...

Alcohol and Capecitabine

Hello Again,

My hubby likes to have a glass of sweet red wine at night. But he is on this oral drug, plus he gets an Avastin infustion every 3 weeks. His onc said this is OK.

What say you?

Thanks!

Side effects of Capecitabine, or Xeloda

Hello All, My husband is having a very rough time with the many side effects he is getting from his oral chemo Capecitabine. I think it's also called Xeloda? Anyway, he has a big reduction in his appetite, feels worn out most of the time, has bouts of severe itching, and a few other effects. What ca...

Will update :) Have a great weekend. What should CEA be for a person with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to the live...
