Re: bad news...

I am so sorry about the scan results. I have no experience of Folfiri but I don't want you to be scared to the gazoolies about Folfox. Yes, the oxiliplatin has the side effects that have been well documented on the board but in my experience, the onc keeps a very close eye on you and adjustments to ...

Re: EXPERIENCE WITH LUNG RESECTION QUESTIONS??

RixinPhix -you made me laugh out loud saying Eric was an animal. I was going to be way politer and just say he's superman !! I found the thoractomy a humdinger of an op - you get good pain meds but the main difficulty was not being able to lie down from discomfort. Mind you, I just slept in a chair ...

Re: Looks like you will be seeing more of me now..

I am so sorry you have got this devastating news.I too had no symptoms whatsoever to flag up a lung met which is why regular scans are so vital. My opinion is that if at all possible, you want to have it removed as that is your best chance for a cure. However good your oncologist, they do not know wh...

Re: Is that ascites??

To be honest, it is impossible for any of us to be able to say -she really needs to ask her doctor. However, my understanding is that ascites takes a long while to develop whilst chemo plays havoc with your system in all sorts of ways. Don't spend time worrying -ask the professionals.Best of luck.

Re: That Ole Scanxiety

Having had to wait 5 weeks for my results this time, my overhyped brain was in overdrive, feeding the imagination in horrible ways. Indeed, when I finally saw my surgeon, his first words to me were "so, have you had any symptoms ?" (Seriously !!! He's great with the scalpel but not so grea...

Re: CT Scan Results.......yikes

For me,I had surgery to remove it but I was told that chemo was not proven to help stop recurrence as I was a long way out from my original surgery. Have got results from a recent scan in a couple of weeks so I will let you know how successful that strategy has been !

Re: What makes you participate here?

I have just finished reading the whole thread on 'So done with this club'. For me,ironically, it summed up why I keep coming here. I didn't like the tone of it at all at first,(also I have been around long enough to remember earlier spats that have flared up over the years :( ) but as people kept po...
