Re: Here we go. Recurrence.

Hi, It is so disappointing when you feel you are moving forward. This did happen to my mum. She had six cycles of chemo then a liver resection, then a quick recurrence with a further four mets in the liver. Another six cycles of chemo then a more extensive liver resection and has been treatment fre...

Re: Here we go. Recurrence.

Sorry to hear about your recurrence. Have you thought about HAI therapy? Here is a overview for anyone interested: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3921035/ peanut I have thought of it. Even during chemo. Its not available in the country where I live (Philippines) though as far as I know...

Here we go. Recurrence.

Hate to be a downer but I need some advice and some support as well. Chemo ended in June 2015, a PET-CT in July was clear but my liver MRI yesterday showed 2 new liver lesions that weren't seen in a liver MRI from Feb (when I was still doing chemo). Just when I was feeling like my life was back to n...

Re: one year of chemo - Stage 4, 37 years old.

Simon, Glad to hear about your clean scans. Almost in the same boat as you. Diagnosed at 37 years last November. Stage 4 with a couple of liver mets. Just finished chemo last June as so far so good. I envy the fact you've had a few beers. I just cant bring myself to have one, at least not for the fi...

Re: Night before chemo. Thinking of giving up...

Every patient's side effects are different. But as others have said I doubt that your golf game will be affected significantly. In my case its been 2 months since my last FOLFOX infusion and apart from some numbness of the toes and fingertips I am fine. Motorwise I can do the same things I always di...

Re: Any Cure for Stage 4 CRC -

Sorry to hear about your wife. There is always hope. I think a formal liver resection (if possible) would be better than RFA. I consulted in SG last December (I am from the Philippines) and the oncologist mentioned that they have the means to do HAI (hepatic artery infusion) chemo. This also might b...

Aspirin vs Turmeric? Both?

Hi all. Not sure if this has been asked before. We all want to stay NED. Exercise and a healthier diet is a given. Apparently Vit. D3 is too, and I am taking that upon my onc's recommendation. Plan to maybe try IP6 as well. Have been taking turmeric capsules and adding powder regularly to my meals s...
