Re: Long weekend of waiting...

Wishing you all the best!! I am also from Alberta but my dad has his care in Red Deer. We do have a member who has dealt with doctors in Calgary, but he has not been posting lately. He had given me a name a while ago when we were having issues with dads doctor, I will look back and see if I can find...

Re: O/T diversion ... The Voice Fall 2016 !

I agree, love the new coaches!!! I think they will give Blake and Adam a run for their money!! I also agree on the sob stories. I really think they do that to get the audiences sympathy for the voting if they get past the blind auditions. I think everyone could come up with something sad to share fo...

Re: Update and a funny! What else can these treatments take from me?

So the rash means that vectibix is working? My dad is on this and has a slight rash, dry scaly scalp, but mom has been givng him creams since before he started it to prepare. The oncolgist has him on cream and pills right away before rash, so hoping that maybe is why his is not so bad. He had his 5t...

Re: starting vectibix tomorrow, side effects are scary

Thank you for the info Felicity! The doctor prescribed him two types of cream to use. Mom has been putting it on his head as that is where the rash is. He also has glaxal base cream that he uses all over for dryness. He is having a bit of trouble with one toe, but has always had his feet professiona...

Re: starting vectibix tomorrow, side effects are scary

My dad just had his fourth vectibix. He will scan after 6, so praying it helps. He is on vectibix alone as other chemos have failed and he needed a break from the harsh stuff. So far not a lot of complaints on this one.

Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully you will find something out soon and the outcome will not be what you are dreading. I cannot imagine how hard this must be for you and of course you mind would jump to the worst, but there are so many things that can cause those symptoms, hopefu...

Re: Avastin at 85.

Mt dad is 82 now and had it this past winter with his folfox. He did have to get reduced folfox but I can not say forsure what they doctor did with the avastin. He had it from January until the end of June when it all stopped working for him. He is on straight vectibix at full strength now and seems...

Re: Folfox4 regimen - Dos and Donts

My dad found that food high in flavor and spice were good to him. He loves onion rings! I made butter chicken for him one night and he warmed up the left overs for breakfast. He even got on a clamato juice kick, that was all he would drink. One odd thing about dad that I have yet to see anyone else ...

Re: Results of my clinical trial - pls read, VERY important

I am curious if anyone else have ever heard of hydrogen peroxide being used to fight cancer? There was this guy who lives not too far from us, that had cancer and was told to go home and get his affairs in order, so I am told. He started some sort of hydrogen peroxide therapy, drinking the stuff, no...

Re: Girlfriend fighting stage IV colon cancer

Sadly, I do not see the same progress in our free world allies of the UK and Canada. Avastin does not seem to be the norm there and patients need to seek it out and usually need to pay extra for it. If your insurance provider is not paying for Avastin here is a link for assistance from Genetech. I ...

Re: Please help.

My dad has been stage 4 now for just over 2 years. He has liver and lung mets. Lung have responded to treatment but liver has been hit and miss. He is also very tired from treatment. They took him off of folfiri/avastin and started him on vectibix alone to give his body a break. He's had 2 treatment...
