Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Went to work today. Kids were happy to see me. Staff was very very supportive. I am tired since it's the first day back from the resection. It was so normal. I loved it. I will never complain about work again. Happy to have this job. I hope I can work through chemo and win this war. Absolutely FANT...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

sometimes the steroid can cause a cough along with several other negative reactions. i agree with Lee that you need to re-engage your oncologist regarding the cough. i am managing my fifth day of chemo so far, mostly nausea and fatigue. today i felt like i was hit by a train, but it cleared about th...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

I agree it was ridiculous. Definitely changing. She is not affiliated with the oncologist either so I will ask for a recommendation. Yes, I'm very touchy. I heard the other day "oh wow, you lost weight, you look great." I felt like saying "yeah cancer surgery is responsible." Bu...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

today is a good day because we are all alive, caught it before it killed us, and are fighting the good fight to stay alive and live long. everyone on this earth has their own problems or will have them somewhere in their future. none of us are unlucky any more than the rest, nor are we not as specia...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

i think they tell you that keying in on the standard chemo protocol. they are not going to tell you that you are going shorter in an effort to keep you focused on the standard. they have to. that's what my infusion nurse told me today. in her 25 years, she said she has not seen many make it through ...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

...and my treatment was clearly explained to me today by the infusion nurse, she was amazing! With a clean PET going in to round one, that is the best news. However, regarless...in doing chemo i get 6 months of steady treatment and 12 rounds is the standard. Now, i may not make it all 12 rounds beca...

Thanks for the well wishes! Today is the day. In just under and hour I will take my first 1000mg of Xeloda then get myself ready for my first Oxaliplatai infusion at 1000...chair number 5. Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

The results of my PET scan are in....I am clean! NO metabolic activity, no metastesis, no hot spots, no active anything! Not sure what that means exactly with chemo to start tomorrow, was too busy jumping up and down! Regardless, I have the port and I still want some chemo just to be sure...though I...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Received the port this morning. Right side and they have me set up for ready access tomorrow for round 1. I have my Xeloda and oral Ativan and Zofran as well. The port install was uneventful. It was much like the prep for my colonoscopy with the IV and review of what was to be done. Then it was a sh...

Re: NEW-Need some positivity here.

Stop reading negative stuff...if you want it, the internet will not disappoint. You have to think about you as you are different than everyone else. If they did not find anything on your scans in terms of metastasis it’s likely there is nothing there. i am with you on getting the treatment right awa...
