Re: Is it safe to fly?

I'm so sorry that this is happening, hugs and prayers to all in your family. Can't answer the question about flying but IMO sounds like it shouldn't be a problem if she has oxygen, her Onc shouId know the answer. I have previously read that you have to get permission from the airlines for oxygen and...

PET/CT Scan a Joke!!! Need advice please.

PET/CT Skull to Thigh Scan yesterday after 10 sessions of Folfuri/Avastin. All went well with the scan, I go to the same place every 3 months for a CT w/contrast skull to thigh scan with one of two technicians, very professional, kind, know what they're doing?, etc. Scans have been analyzed and repo...

Re: PET/CT Scan and Neupogen Shots???

Wondering what the opinion is here or if anyone has experienced this. Thanks... PET will detect increased metabolic activity so if the marrow is being properly stimulated by the Neupogen shots, it will appear more active, which could appear on the PET as a false positive reading. Still pondering th...

PET/CT Scan and Neupogen Shots???

Today 1/24 is #10/10 Folfuri and Avastin! PET/CT Scan on 1/31, one week from today. Whoopee!!! My WBC is down to 2.3 so Onc wants me to have 4 Neupogen shots on 1/27, 1/30, 1/31 and 2/1. I've read that you shouldn't have the shots at least one week before a PET? He's fine with it. Wondering what the...

Re: Hoping for a miracle...prayers needed

I'm so sorry Natalie, hope things are better for your Mom tonight. The ER Doctor told me to prepare myself because this situation was not good...and that there might be little time left. Hoping you got or are getting an opinion from a colorectal surgeon and not just the ER doc, have read too many st...

Re: Radiation Therapy after LAR

I can only say what I had and that was radiation and chemo prior to surgery for a rectal tumor. Strictly chemo after surgery and still on it, I have mets to my lungs (not lung cancer) which we're hoping to shrink with the chemo. Not sure why they'd do radiation on the pelvis after, I haven't heard o...

Re: Chemo delayed

IMO your WBC is really low and I'd say your chemo was stopped due to the low WBC. My Onc says if mine were to reach 1. he would put me in the hospital. I now get 3 Neupogen shots every other week to help build more white blood cells. I have blood drawn bi-weekly at Quest Diagnostics, I'm white, a se...
