Re: When it rains...

Oh Stu I am so very sorry. Both parents struggling at the same time, that is so hard! And I thought your mom was completely “out of the woods”...
Wishing you strength for the days to come - like you say, one at a time. Your mom is a fighter!

Re: When it rains...

Things are moving fast, which I'm happy about. Yesterday we met with both onc and radiation onc. Onc is requesting NGS and PD-L1 testing using fresh biospied tissue from the lumbar tumor recurrence; he's pushing for localized treatment (radiation) but wants a "plan B" in place, too, should...

This horrible, horrible disease. After all you've been through, I had so much hope for immunotherapy, for you to finally catch a break.
Words are so inadequate...
I wish you a peaceful time with your loved ones.

Re: When it rains...

Thank you! DH had a PET scan Thursday morning (it had been scheduled a few months ago and onc said we might as well go ahead with it, despite recent MRI and CT scans). Results show “ Large expansile lytic lesion in the right lateral L3 and L4 vertebral bodies with associated pathologic fracture and ...

I hope you manage to enjoy life in the meantime (easier said than done, I know...). How's the FL weather now? Are you still swimming daily?

Re: Beginning TIL Therapy at NIH Next Week

Really messed up situation now. Why? If I understand correctly: * Current treatment works, no need for TIL -> cured * Current treatment does not work, TIL possible and works -> cured Of course there are all the "in between", which may not lead to a cure NOW but if QoL is good under curren...

Re: Beginning TIL Therapy at NIH Next Week

It is so hard to live with uncertainty! We all want to know what will happen and when, but unfortunately with cancer one has to do their best to live with a lot of uncertainty... When you say they will not perform the infusion/procedure unless the cancer is progressing , is it something new to you? ...

Oh Riki you are going through so much
I bet the cold is related to you being so skinny, you probably have zero fat left.
Have you started immunotherapy yet? How far apart are the treatments?
Sending lots of thoughts your way XXXXX

Re: When it rains...

Well, I just got a text from my friend who's the neurosurgeon's PA and it looks like DH will be discharged this afternoon, apparently he's "kicking some butt"! It will be so much nicer for him to be home. He's totally asymptomatic covid-wise, but of course not allowed to leave his room, so...

Thanks guys. I do have a good support network here, but no one can understand what this recurrence means like the people on this forum do. Your strength helps us move forward!

When it rains...

My poor husband  Just as things were beginning to look up following the reversal! He rode 6 miles on his home trainer Wednesday evening, then we had dinner. Following a bout of clustering, he started to experience back pain, which became extreme during the night. When I took him to the ER Thurs...
