Re: Possible colon cancer symptoms?

BeansMama, but actually I had a question: would CT scans also be able to detect any cancer or not? In the colon etc? A CT scan can show inflammation in the colon, but that can be a sign of other diseases. You wont get a diagnosis of cancer without a biopsy of the tissue, for that you will need a co...

Re: Anyone else with signet cell or muincous cancer?

Hi, mine was diagnosed as SRC as well when i went to MSKCC , it was shocking and horrible news in addition to everything else. I was told there that for stage 3 the treatment was the same as for other CC - 12 rounds of FOLFOX, the onc did recommend monitoring with MRIs in addition to the standard CT...

I took oxycodone for about a week or a little more and had no trouble s...

Re: Lap resection surgery set for Dec

Sounds like you are in good hands. I didn't have a laparoscopic procedure, my surgery was open. The walking stimulates your colon and wakes it back up, it gets you out of the hospital faster. They say you have to fart first (but sometimes you poo first). My recovery went well, lots of not moving too...

Re: Colonoscopy during treatment for metastatic disease

Hi KElizabeth, It seems like while you are on chemo, esp with Avastin, your ability to heal from injury is impaired significantly making surgery very risky. So even if they found anything, they wont be able to remove it without significant life threatening risks. Except you really want to know if so...
