Sorry for your situation Jed, perhaps you will get more help if you start a new tread.

Have you been just diagnosed?

A big hug!

Re: New on the forum

A week has gone after the last chemo and radiotherapy session and I am feeling much better, just a bit of nausea which started now, but I guess both Xeloda and radio are still at work in my body. I am a bit worried about the CT scan to my lungs in two weeks. It is to see if the 8 mm node changed wit...

Re: All Lung Nodule Experiences

I also have one 8 mm node in my lung that is suspect, I am going to do a CT scan in two weeks to see if Xeloda cleaned it or if it is the same (then they mean is not cancer related).

I hope it is still there and same size

Re: oxaliplatin side effects - 9 years after treatment

Well, I am so sorry about these side effects that showed up after the treatment was finished. Oxalyplatin sounds really nasty. Now there are some studies showing that three months regimes are almost as effective as 6 months, but is there a significant reduction in side effects? Perhaps is too early ...

Re: Can Stages go backwards post surgery?

Hi! From what I read they talk about ”restaging” after neoadjuvant therapy, meaning that you evaluate the size and regression of the tumor and then it can affect the type of surgery you get and if the sphincter can be saved. But the original stage is the one used in research to pool samples together...

Re: Life style change

If you get a temporary ileostomy, you will learn foods that may not work and how to take care of your ileostomy. That was also my thought, maybe it will be difficult to follow the diet with the ileostomy, I have not lost weight though until now. I also wanted to emphasize that life style accounts f...

Re: Life style change

Hi! Very interesting post! :) I am now since diagnosis going for a sugar free and meat and diary free diet. I found out the studies on Valter Longo about longevity and fasting, and also about starving during chemotherapy. But with the 5 days chemo pattern it was impossibile to fast two days before a...

Re: New on the forum

Hei,
I was tested negative for Lynch, but this is the only genetic test they have done yet. I will update the signature. My father had colon cancer when he was 63.

Actually, I am Italian, but I lived in Norway for the last 15 years :)

Re: New on the forum

I was stage 2A rectal cancer and neoadjuvant therapy, surgery, then adjuvant therapy. Are you saying you won't have chemo after your surgery? I think that is pretty standard for rectal cancer unless stage 1 or less. I guess it will depends on whether I am restaged to 4 and on the histology results ...

Re: New on the forum

Hi! I finished today with 25 radiochemotherapy sessions. I also had the last control and the results of biopsy from uterus and cervix. They were both negative but they want to remove everything anyway, also ovaries. I was surprised that the doctor said that they do not give adjuvant chemo for rectal...
