Re: Divine Healing

I'm here what did I miss? Where's that third rail around here? I really would like to grab a hold of it. Just a quick story: So I'm not religious...like at all...not even a little bit. My mother-in-law on the other hand is. She's told me in the past that she prays for me...even gotten her church to ...

Re: Large muscle fatigue post-chemo?

I think around 2 months post chemo is the worst of the effects from the Oxaliplatin regarding nueropathy and such. I think this also has an effect in the leg muscles. I remember during treatment, the day after an Oxali infusion my calves would feel sore like I just did a double day leg work out (whi...

Re: Can colonoscopies be dangerous?

Walking across the street can be dangerous. Getting in a car can be dangerous. Life is about risk vs. reward. I'm pretty sure sure everyone here would take a colonoscopy over cancer any day, and that's why you get them. Hmm lets see...Spend 8 months of my life, tens of thousands of dollars, treating...

I'm also finding Cottonelle wipes to be a good friend. :)

I've just migrated to them. I should by stock. I've got a bunch of the little travel packs I take everywhere with me now. First they're more gentle and second they see to keep you cleaner.

Surveillance Scope

I had my 3rd Surveillance Colonscopy last Friday and it was my first clean scope ever. Polyps were found in my previous two. I may be able to push my next scope to two years instead of yearly. The prep went smooth. Nothing fancy just good 'ol Lemon Lime GoLytely. I did add a slathering of Vasoline o...

Re: Rectosigmoid

Additionally I believe the location of your small intestine to the tumor comes into play. Small intestine and radiation is no beueno.

My tumor was 10-15cm in and was treated as rectal.

Re: Very Concerned Please Help!

You can be completely asymptomatic except for a little blood and have a colorectal tumor. Unfortunately the only way to rule a colorectal tumor out completely is to get a colonoscopy. This is the reason so many of us young folks present with quite advanced disease especially when the primary tumor i...

Here's a song I just ran across. I think it fits the theme.

Re: NED's are you following a diet & exercising or living your life as before?

I was never a horrible eater. I like my veggies and stuff, but I I've cut back significantly on my carb intake. I've always been pretty active and I'm continuing that. I'm in the process of losing a few pounds (I travelled a bit to much last fall/winter and put on a bit to much weight). Which is com...

Re: 5FU and radiation

I am starting 5 weeks if radiation and 5FU. What kind if unwanted effects should I expect? Thank you. Have you considered Xeloda instead of a 5-FU infusion? I found taking a pill (Well more than one, but...) kept my life pretty normal excluding the daily 2 minute sunburn from the inside out. I'm no...

Re: MRI this morning

So've hesitated to reply because I don't have closure on this yet, but I do have the results of the MRI.

No definitive evidence of tumor recurrence. No evidence of lymphadenopathy or metastatic disease within the abdomen or pelvis.

What we all hope to see in our scan reports.

Re: confidence in negative PET results?

When I had my PET my tumor lit up like a Christmas tree. The three enlarged lymph nodes seen on CT didn't light up. Post surgery pathology showed cancer in the lymph nodes. So, unfortunately a PET is not a silver bullet when it comes to finding cancer.
