Re: O/T - These medical costs are ridiculous! - UPDATED PART

Nobody wants to see good work, commitment, training etc go unrewarded. But I agree with Laurettas. There is a difference between profit and profiteering. A generation ago things seemed to be different. The chairman of GM would respond, when asked, that the purpose of his company was to make good car...

Re: O/T - These medical costs are ridiculous!

I'm sorry, Lohidoc. Cancer is bad enough without going through all the crap you've had to deal with. This is probably a really dumb question, but does your pharmacy know that you're with the Trillium Drug Plan? The drug plan should be paying for your prescriptions right at the pharmacy. The way it ...

Re: Please tell me...how long to be with my dad???

Lung lesions can persist for a very long time without causing major symptoms. Remember you can live a perfectly normal life with just one lung. If a lesion is near a major structure such as a large bronchus it can cause symptoms, but some palliative radiotherapy can relieve that. If a lesion is near...

Re: O/T - These medical costs are ridiculous!

lohidoc -- if you applied for the Trillium Drug Plan, your application has probably been denied since you're on disability. Try applying for Ontario Drug Benefits -- just search "application for Ontario drug benefits" on Google. If that's what you applied for and you're still waiting 6 mo...

Re: O/T - These medical costs are ridiculous!

Don't beat yourselves up too much, my US friends. As much as Canadians like to boast and blow their own trumpet, especially where our southern cousins are concerned, dying is an expensive business in Canada. Take my situation: self employed, so no coverage (like most Canadians I assumed our universa...

Maybe Pog, maybe. But he didn't exactly crawl into a hole to die after his diagnosis did he? In fact, his bursts of activity since his diagnosis suggest a strong will to live and have an impact before he dies.

Re: Ok, may be I am going nuts...

It is scientifically proven that animals have a sixth sense. They can predict earthquakes, forest fires, hurricanes and of course death. I have a dog who can predict her own feeding time! Also walks, treats and camping trips. Right now there is a squirrel outside my trailer looking at me. I can tell...

Re: Those on pain meds...

And good to see you too skypup. I am surprised that you have been seen by a pain specialist, that you have tried a variety of narcotics, that your pain relief is inadequate and nausea is a problem. And yet no one has suggested fentanyl patches. Same indication as for all narcotics, ie moderate to se...
