Re: Seeing the Thoracic Surgeon April 11 a.m. - need advice

It's past eleven, but I wanted to comment on your situation, because it sounds similar to my dad's experience. My dad had two nodules at 7 and 8mm discovered on a ct at the time of diagnosis. Two months later they had not changed size, but his thoracic surgeon seemed pretty convinced that they were ...

Re: Signet Ring Cell Question

Thank you Janklo and Bussman for replying to my post. I did a little more research last night and came up with some more information. A signet ring cell cancer is classified as so if more than 50% of the cells are signet ring. If less than 50% of the cells are signet ring then it is considered to ha...

Signet Ring Cell Question

Hi Colonclubbers, I've been lurking for a while, and I have a question about my father's diagnosis. He was diagnosed with colon cancer last July which was followed by a right hemi-colectemy. He completed his last round of folfox a couple of weeks ago and is now due to see his oncologist for a post c...

Re: Jessica Smith

I am mainly a lurker on this board. Since my father's diagnosis in June I think I've read almost every single colon club forum post. I was immediately struck by Jessica and her battle with cancer, maybe because we both have two year old daughters, but more likely because of her spirit. Her willingne...

Re: Chemo three months after surgery?

Nicola, thanks for making me feel so much better. That study came up multiple times when I was googling and it scared the heck out of me. I'm praying that things go a little more smoothly once my dad starts his chemo this coming Thursday. I wish you all the best as well.

Re: Chemo three months after surgery?

Thanks to both of you for your words of wisdom. My father is set to have a port put in on Tuesday and will begin treatment on Thursday. I pray that all goes smoothly and that the treatments are effective.

Thanks again,

Chemo three months after surgery?

Hi everyone, I'm a relative newbie here. I've posted before and I received so much support, so thank you. My 57 year old father had surgery to remove a 2.7cm tumor in his ascending colon on July 8th. The pathology report staged it at a 2b, due to a t4 tumor with 19 lymph nodes clear, however there w...

Re: Dreams

Ever since my dad was diagnosed with cancer he has complained of very vivid, intense dreams. My mom says that he wakes often and his sleep is very restless. My opinion is that it's not related to cancer, but rather to anxiety. I too have been having vivid dreams and nightmares since his diagnosis. I...

Re: Lung Biopsy

The results of my dad's biopsy came back inconclusive. I wasn't surprised, because the nodules are both quite small. My dad saw his thoracic surgeon today, and asked him what he would do if he were in my dad's position, and he said, "I'd want them (the lung nodules) out." So my dad is sche...
